NOTES BY CHASE STUART

AND SOME KRAMER THOUGHTS...

One obvious takeaway from week 1 is that the good teams are going to be really good.

The league pushed parity through the front door with a hard salary cap,
and drove parity
kicking and screaming through the garage
with the pass-friendly rules changes.

A pass heavy team is now nigh unstoppable, and there are certain lines that just can't go
high enough.

Now, let's put last week in perspective:

the Packers went up against perhaps the most accurate quarterback in football,
while the Panthers went up against perhaps the worst pass defense in the league
(nothing to take away from a rookie QB'S starting performance ,
connecting with his own receivers and play calling , etc)

However , Arizona had 2 rookie Corner B'S ,
Now the Panthers QB will have to face Charles Woodson and the rest of Packers D.
So expect a little dif result

Nine points is a lot for Detroit to give:
the Lions haven't been favored by as much as
a touchdown since week 17 of the 2000 season
BUT , They never had Stafford as QB or SUH as DT ,

The Jets have won only 10/33 games by double digits

The Ravens won six games by more than 6 points in '10,
three more by exactly six, and played in seven games where
they narrowly won or lost.

The Bills seem to have a tight end who played behind Gates and Witten (Dallas)
(SCOTT CHANDLER)
and will be pumped up for home opener.

KEEP AN EYE ON WEST COST TO EAST 1PM GAMES …

The last time Seattle went to Pittsburgh was four years ago, with that game also scheduled with a 1:00 kickoff
Steelers won 21-0

Since Oak (West Coast) to east coast 1pm feels like a 10 a.m. Game for Oak,
to Buf may feel same ?
lets see what happens with these games this week
Seattle is 2nd game

Chargers to Patriots not so much ..

Cards at Redskins West To East …
Cards gave up lots of passing yards to Panthers ,
Wash beat the injured Giants ,
could be a passing game..

Kramers note – Interesting every NFC SOUTH teams lost game #1 ..

note 2 – NFC WEST won with a 7-9 record last year
teams not to rely heavy on …

For ex – ST LOUIS 10 YR ATS = 69-88-3
AWAY DOG = 21-28
AWAY = 28-52
AS U.D = 37-46

SAN FRAN -

10 YR ATS = 73-79-8
U.DOG=45-48-=3
HOME DOG = 17-16

SEATTLE
1O YR ATS = 71-83-6
U.DOG = 31-42-4
VS NON DIV AWAY U.DOG = 11-24-3

CARDINALS 10 YR ATS = 73-84-3

AS U.DOG = 50-58-3

AWWAY DOG = 16-28-2
Denver home fav ?

Bucs at Viking – 39 passing yards from Mccnab,? Wtf..

TOM BRADY IS 123-39 AS A STARTER , 95-63 ATS

WEEK 2 SURVIVOR THOUGHTS- IF YOU'RE IN ONE

STEELERS ,
JETS , LIONS
Never pick a bad team.
Never pick an underdog. Never save any teams.

WEEK 2 SHARP MONEY BY
CHRIS TORRISI

Books fared pretty good Week 1 as far as sides went but took a pounding
from squares on totals with 12 Overs cashing.

You better believe oddsmakers did everything they could to protect themselves
this week by making proper adjustments.

I always preach to pay attention to opening numbers.

If you want to win like as sharp you have to think like a sharp
I always say. Remember sharps aka professional bettors bet early in the week
into opening numbers to get themselves the best value possible.

Remember squares aka the general betting public usually wait to place their bets
until gameday before kick off.

So any early moves you see during the beginning of the week is sharp money.

It’s important to realize that every early sharp move isn’t them holding on to that position.
Sometime it’s head fake money which is sharps moving a line
in order to get a more favorable number on game day betting the other side.

Chicago @ New Orleans(-7, O/U 47.5)
Here’s a game involving the key # of 7.

I spoke with a local NYC bookie who said he opened at 7 and hasn’t
had to move it off that number. I spoke with a Vegas oddsmaker who told me
he opened at 6.5 and took Saints $$ from sharps and quickly adjusted to 7.

As far as the total we’ve seen sit still at 47.5 which is a half of tick below the key # of 48 keeping wiseguys off so far. The Saints are a popular square bet at home in recent years so you’re likely to see public $$ on New Orleans come Sunday.

Kansas City @ Detroit (-9, O/U 46)

My Vegas oddsmaker source told me he opened this up at 7.5
was bet up to 8 and took buy back on the Chiefs and is currently
the only book at press time I know that is at 7.5 on this game.

A NYC bookie source who takes a lot of sharp $ told me he opened at 8
and still took Detroit $ and adjusted to 9 where the love stopped.

The total has been pretty quiet but offshore has been bet up to 46
at most shops form the 45 opener.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ NY Jets(-9, O/U 39.5)

This game opened at 10.5 and I know a lot of sharps here in NYC
who took the points with the Jags.

Same confirmation from the west coast guys that sharps took the double digits
with the Jaguars when this line opened.

This total is over the key # of 38 keeping wiseguys off so far.

Oakland @ Buffalo (-3, O/U43.5)

My Vegas source opened this at 3 and took early Buffalo $$ and moved
up to 4 before getting some buy back on Oakland and readjusting to 3.5.

NYC sources I spoke with opened this Buffalo-4 and were bet down to 3.5.

So it seems 4 is a key number sharps are taking Oakland at.

It seems west coast sharps didn’t respect Oakland at +3 and east coast sharps
didn’t respect Buffalo at -4 so it’s a middle situation.
Early move on the over from what I’m gathering.

Arizona @ Washington (-4, O/U 45)

My Vegas source told me he opened at 4 and tested 4.5 out where
he took dog money and readjusted back to 4.

Same exact story here in NYC.
Books opened 4 and tested 4.5 out and took some dog $$.

The over from coast to coast is a popular early move by sharps.

Baltimore @ Tennessee (+5.5, O/U 38)

My Vegas oddsmaker source opened this at 5.5 and said he’s had Baltimore
as high as -6.5 during the week but has settled at -6 as we come to press time.

My NYC local source told me he tested the waters with -4 with
Baltimore last Sunday night and quickly took Baltimore $$ and as I write
this is up Baltimore -5.5.

He said he tested the key # of 6 out and took money on the dog
which is why he’s at 5.5

All books expect squares all over Baltimore after a strong showing last Sunday.
The total has been quiet.

Seattle @ Pittsburgh (-14, O/U 40.5)

Vegas oddsmaker opened at 14.
Took it off the key # of 14 and went to 14.5
and took buy back on Seattle and moved back to 14 where all has been quiet.
He said he knows books who opened Pitt as low as 13
and got flooded with wiseguy $$ on the Steelers.

My NYC source opened at 13 and said he took sharp $$ on Pittsburgh.

At 14 the loved stopped.

So sharps liked Pittsburgh under 14 wherever they found it.
The over has been a popular early sharp move.

Green Bay @ Carolina (+10, O/U 47)

Vegas source opened this at 10.5 and took sharp money enough
to drive it down to 9.5 as sharps took the double digit home dog.

He took a little sharp $$ on the Over at the key # of 45 and moved up to 46
where all has been quiet.
NYC source same story basically.
He took dog $$ at 10.5 and adjusted to 10 where it’s been quiet.

Old school sharps knee jerk reaction is betting double digit home dogs.
Tampa Bay @ Minnesota (+3, O/U 41.5)

This game is dead quiet so far as no source of mine coast to coast has yet to take any action on this game.

Cleveland @ Indianapolis (+2.5, O/U 40)

Vegas source said this # has floated between 1.5 and 2.5 all week.
Said he took money on the Over.
NYC source told me he’s taken sharp Colts $ on the home dog and
moved this from 2.5 down to 1.5.

He also took money on the Over in this game.

Dallas @ San Francisco (+3, O/U 42.5)

Side is quiet here from all sources I spoke with so far since
it’s sitting at the key # of 3.

All books said they took sharp $$ on the Over at 41.5 since it was below
the key # of 42.

Books protected themselves crossing the key # of 42 to 42.5
where the love stopped.

Houston @ Miami (+3, O/U 48)

All is quiet on this game here on the side but books are telling me
they expect square money all over Houston who looked unstoppable
on game day.

Sharps will probably wait until game day to get the home dog
across the key of 3 at 3.5 or 4 from the chatter I’m hearing from other professional bettors.

Total sits quietly at the key # of 48.

San Diego @ New England (-6.5, O/U 54.5)

Vegas source said he took dog $$ on the opener of 7 with the Chargers.

He adjusted down to 6 but has since been bet up to Patriots-7

again where all is quiet.

NYC source told me he has San Diego at +7 (-115 vig)
and it’s been quiet so far.

With a total set this high and the betting public expected to bet this game
Over sharps will almost definitely wait and bet this game
Under at the highest # possible.

Sharps love betting totals set this high in the NFL Under.

Cincinnati @ Denver (-4, O/U 40)

Vegas oddsmaker opened this at 6 and took wiseguy $$ right away

and adjusted this game down two points to 4.

He had the total at 40.5 and took a little under money
and adjusted to 40.

NYC contact has been bet down all the way to 3.5
with Bengals taking clear Cincy $$ here from sharps.
Bengals are a popular sharp move coast to coast.

Philadelphia @ Atlanta (-2.5, O/U 49.5)

A lot of disparity on this game as I tweeted about earlier this week on Twitter.

Mike Vick coming home to Atlanta on Sunday Night.

Vegas source told me opened # has floated back and forth between 1.5 and 2.5
all week at his shop with sharps on both sides.

NYC book told me he opened at -2.5 Philly and has taken wiseguy $$ on Atlanta
and this game is down to Atlanta+1 at his shop.

He said squares will be all over Philly but he’s been one sided with sharp action on Atlanta here.

Old school sharps will bet this game Under off knee jerk reaction with a total this high just like the Chargers/Pats game.

St. Louis @ NY Giants (-6, O/U 43.5)

Vegas source told me once Sam Bradford X-rays came back negative
he took Rams $$ at +7 and moved this all the way down to 5.

He said at 5 he took Giants $$ from sharps and is sitting at 6
at press time as I write this.

NYC sharps are very quiet on this game and books haven’t taken any sharp $$ yet here in NYC as they told me they are sitting at 6 all week. That will change by game day for sure.

Total has been quiet.
