Arrow NFL Week 6 - Early looks and discussion!

Just going to get some early discussion on some lined games. Let's try to limit this thread to good discussion rather than rah, rah type of stuff!

St. Louis at Green Bay -15, 48
The Packers just look like a machine on offense and St. Louis will struggle to score. Probably a pass for me

Jacksonville at Pittsburgh -12.5, 39.5
Pittsburgh finally looked good this week and looked great. Jacksonville is a complete mess but is this line an overreaction to last week?

Philadelphia at Washington -1. 47.5

Hard to imagine this game not being the season for the Eagles. Win and they are right back in this thing - lose and I don't think they could dig themselves out. Washington continues to be underrated or are they?

Carolina at Atlanta -4.5, 51
First glance I would think Atlanta comes out and blows them out but here is the problem - Atlanta might just not be that good and Carolina seems to hang around in every game and Cam Newton is good. But this will be a rough road game for them.

Indianapolis at Cincinnati -7, 40.5
Okay maybe the oddsmakers getting a little carried away with the Bengals here? Seems like Bengals play bad teams every week.

Buffalo at Ny Giants -3, 50
Just on paper, the Bills offense so explosive and the Giants defense so banged up. If the Giants give up 30+ to Seattle what does Buffalo score? I guess the question is do the Giants bounce back or do they roll over and die?

Houston at Baltimore -7, 45
Ravens off bye week. Houston coming off tough home loss. They missed Andre Johnson and now they lost their defensive leader Mario Williams. Lean Baltimore

Cleveland at Oakland -5.5, 44.5
Will the Raiders letdown after their emotional win for Al Davis? Cleveland has two weeks to prepare! Browns can't stop the run? Uh Oh - Darren McFadden licking his chops!

Dallas at New England -7, 54.5
Don't know what to think of this game. Dallas off bye week. Tony Romo Jekyll and Hyde! Tom Brady and New England like a machine.

New Orleans -4.5, 49 at Tampa
First reaction for me is Tampa being a big play. Saints on 3rd straight road game. Tampa off embarrassing loss to SF. But when you lose 48-3, you have to ask if something is wrong? Keeping an eye on this one

Miami at Ny Jets -9, 42
Early must win for the Jets for confidence and also to stay alive in AFC East. If Dallas upsets New England and Bills lose on road - with a Jets win, they right back in it. BUT - Miami players do play hard for Sparano, they always up for the Jets - on Monday Night Football and 15 days to prepare. Don't think Miami will roll over here but if the Jets get up early, Dolphins may just be thinking about what "Luck" they have!

Share your opinions and thoughts on any of these games or others not listed!

Buy Low, Sell High and that rule goes into play with the GMen -3 this week over my Bills.

The world just watched the GMen at home throw up all over themselves against a very bad Seattle team while the Bills(along with Detroit) are the real big surprises of the NFL this year, especially my Bills offense, but this is the type of game just like the Bengals game a couple of weeks ago where my Bills choke on their own success and once again that will be the case this weekend with the Giants coming out and playing football the way they can. GMen win this game by 10+ points.

I beg to difer. Up and down Giants will play better but not good enough to win against a consistant Buffalo team so far.

I watched their game at Cinci closely and Bills had a few bad calls against that made a difference to hand the victory to the Bengals.

Of course, it's expected than the home team gets the calls so who knows if NY will have enough calls going their way to get the win?

green bay looks like the trap of the year. Should be at least -21.

IMO, Don't think a team laying 15 could be a trap.

I love my Bills and I love what they have done so far this year, especially since I had to sit through that 0-8 start to last year. But these are the type of games that my Bills will throw up all over themselves. I said the same thing before that Bengals game and I am saying it again this week especially after that performance by the GMen on Sunday, this is just setting up as a perfect spot to fade my Bills because alot of people are going to think the same way you are in regards to them and then have in the back of their mind that performance by the Giants at home to the Seahawks.

I take Philly even all day long. If Brown doesn't attempt to throw a backwards pass on the goal line, and they kick one more field goal (they missed 2) they beat SF. They also played good enough to beat Atlanta and Buffalo. If Philly takes care of the football better they are a good team, and the defense will gel at some point.

Washington has beaten no one. The Giants lost to Seattle for crying out loud. SF and AZ? Wash barely won both. Philly in a rout.

Buffalo and give up to 5. The Giants will battle Washington for last place in the NFC East.

No way TB can compete with NO. Granted NO will have trouble stopping the run which is why SF was able to dominate. But, TB had a hard time stopping Indy from scoring against them. Granted TB is a better team at home, but the Saints are too high powered for them.

@aztriman - not trying to start anything but figured I'd comment.

philly didn't play good enough to beat atlanta because they lost. If if if didn't happen. Many teams have these issues but that they keep happening makes it real and not just bad luck.
Hard game to figure with washington off bye and at home. They have one of the better defenses in the league believe it or not. They kept dallas to only field goals and now they've had 2 weeks to gameplan. Leaning skins.

Obviously you're an eagles fan saying nonesense like giants will battle for last place. Eagles are 1-4. They are in last place.
G-men here is a hard bet though. The bills are rolling. As a fan I will stay away but I will try to add some insight.
The Giants are the team to figure teams out. They figured out the bears last year and how to play Vick (despite the losses they showed how to play against him). They may do that to the Bills here and couple that with bounce back from a bad loss with a close win.
OR they fall completely flat again and NY yells for coughlin's head.

Agree Saints roll TB. TB has beat teams with losing records. Atlanta being the best the other 2 vikings and colts a combined 1-9.

Mario Williams out, Andre Johnson out, Schaub a bit banged up and playing @ baltimore with baltimore coming off a bye. EASY baltimore.

Any thoughts on Detroit? Think they keep it going against San Francisco?

@resteasy

I am the furthest thing from an Eagles fan. Born in raised in AZ, and sadly am a Cards fan. Glad we agree on NO, and even though I hate to say it, Baltimore too. Hou struggled big time without AJ, and they're unlikely to have a lot of success running.

As far as the Giants go, ok, they'll get 3rd. Take a look at their schedule, they likely lose to: BUF, NE, SF, NO, GB, @DAL and NYJ. 7-9 on the year.

haha ok. I've had dealing with philly fans too much the past couple months and man they are hard headed.
Yeah, the Giants have the backend of the schedule pretty rough. With the injuries they already have it seems unlikely they'll do great but they are just so difficult to predict. Seems like it'll be washington dallas and giants fighting closely for the #1 spot. Philly could come back but they are far enough behind with tough games ahead as well that they'll be behind the entire season.

Eagles rolled Skins last yr on MNF when Vick went crazy and ran roughshod and embarrassed Wash & Shanny........I'm a big Philly fan, and they could very well drive home from Wash at 1-5
36 guys still alive.........how many bite the dust this week ?

this appears to be one of those years when there are 3-4 really good teams, and i tend to play those teams until the league catches up with them

plays for me are the packers, new england, new orleans, and baltimore. houston has to many key injuries, as do st. louis. Looking over the years in the nfl, anytime teams loose their main front line players on off or def. the backups just can,t get it done. I think the injury report is the most important thing to look at every week
