No debate anymore: Peyton Manning is the NFL MVP

As a Pats fan hard to admit, however, as a sports fan and handicapper, there is nothing left to debate on this one. Brees and Favre late season swoons make it clear. I think Lord P had it anyway as his team was playing better with less talent than the other two. Rivers could make a claim as well to be in the top three, as Favre, while he had a great season, is doing his late season shit again and Brees has no business getting shut out in a half of play against Tampa.

Congrats Lord P, your the games best this year.

like i said i've argued this til im blue in the face...he's a great qb but he's not that much in front of the other guys. his numbers are not that impressive when compared to other top qbs. he wins because the media votes on it and they all love him

Payton is the most efficient and effective player I have ever seen play the position. He wins hands down with Rivers then Brees second and third respectively imo.

Just for a frame of reference...because i like to debate. People that say its not close need to look closer at the numbers

Over the past two seasons, which is a larger scope and a better judge for level of play

Rivers has a higher qb rating, a higher ypa by a full yard, 61 tds to 20 ints (Manning only 60 tds to 27 ints) as well as a head to head win over mr. manning in the playoffs.

So please spare me the its not even close bs cuz it's simply not true

Rjb - it's not just about numbers. Peyton is like a machine. It's like you click him on & he scores a td. It's amazing really.

what else is it about? mvp awards are ALWAYS based off numbers, in every sport. its why defensive players never win it

Just because they have a shitty backup doesn't mean anything. Chargers would be in the same boat
