NY Jets @ Buffalo Bills
The statistics on these two sides can be bent either way – the Bills are unbeaten at home this season while the Jets are yet to win on the road. Then consider the fact that the Jets have struggled recently coming out of bye weeks and it would seem to tilt things back in the favour of the Bills. That is until you realise that the Jets have dominated the Bills of late, winning five of the last six and three straight in Buffalo.
However, this is a resurgent Buffalo side. And although they haven’t won their first five home games since the 1995 season, if they replicate the form of their last outing, which was a dominating 23-0 victory over the Washington Redskins, equalling that feat is a distinct possibility. Defensively the Bills have been profligate this year but against the Redskins they tightened things up and they will need to continue that form, especially against the Jets’ running attack, which will probably be their primary form of offence. The Bills have been average against the run, yielding 120 yards per game on 4.9 yards per carry, so expect to the Jets to use plenty of featured back Shonn Greene and veteran LaDainian Tomlinson to pound the ball at them.
