Odds of Green Bay Running the table this year...
Equality is a very noble concept. It’s just difficult to apply. George Orwell famously wrestled with this socialist theme – even hiring a cast of farm yard animals to prove his point that, while all men are created equal, some are more equal than others.
Granted, Orwell was taking a pop at the Stalinist oppression of the 1940s. But in the interests of keeping it light, he could have perhaps chosen the National Football League instead. After all, the NFL is an institution which has progressively tried to guard against supreme dominance and promote parity among its participants. In short, on any given Sunday, any team can win.
Which probably goes some way to explaining why no team have gone undefeated through an NFL campaign since the Miami Dolphins of 1972. Indeed, in a league of multiple divisions and often incompatible schedules, it’s usually pretty tough to tell who the best team are before the playoffs get underway.
