He also faces charges of sodomy, forcible oral copulation and indecent exposure.

Prosecutors say Winslow began a crime spree last March that included rapes, kidnappings, indecent exposure and burglary and continued until just before his arrest this week.

According to charging documents, he allegedly kidnapped and raped a 54-year-old woman on March 13 and then a 59-year-old woman on May 13.

On May 24, prosecutors say, he exposed himself in a public place, the location of which wasn't disclosed.

The burglary charges involved alleged break-ins at the home of a 71-year-old woman on June 1 and an 86-year-old woman on June 7.

Winslow was originally arrested June 7 in the burglary case. After posting bail, he was arrested again Thursday on the additional charges. On Friday, Superior Court Judge Robert Dahlquist ordered him held without bail.

Winslow's wife, Janelle, and his father, Hall of Fame tight end Kellen Winslow Sr., released a joint statement late Friday. Kellen Winslow Sr. was at the courthouse for Friday's arraignment.

"On behalf of our son and my husband, we want to reiterate our love, support and affection for him during this difficult process," the statement read. "We will always be there for him and we know the true facts will come out."

If convicted, Winslow could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The investigation regarding Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston remains open. Whenever it closes, the final decision could indeed be a suspension.

Via JoeBucsFan.com, ESPN Tallahassee radio host Jeff Cameron said that the NFL will suspend Winston for the alleged incident from March 2016 with an Uber driver in Arizona.

“The Winston camp is prepared for the NFL to levy a suspension of some kind,” Cameron said. “The thought from the Winston camp is that would be a maximum of three games. I do not know at this time whether or not they plan to appeal, and I do not know that three games is an accurate number. I’ve been told that would seem to be the maximum number of games that the suspension could be. It’s also likely that it’s less than that and it’s one game.”

The suspension would arise not necessarily from the incident itself but from a failure to make a timely report of the allegation, which can constitute a separate violation of the Personal Conduct Policy.

Whatever the suspension, the filing of an internal appeal makes sense. External attacks on the suspension, via litigation, would make little sense, given that past cases have made it clear that the league’s power in these case is extremely broad.

Gene Steratore is reportedly joining other recently retired referees in making the move from the field to the broadcasting world.

The NFL announced Steratore’s retirement on Friday, making him the fourth referee to retire since the end of the 2017 season, and Cameron Filipe of Football Zebras reports that he will join CBS Sports as a rules analyst.

Winston will not appeal his 3-game suspension. This was a negotiated settlement.

One of the key statements in the NFL’s announcement on Jameis Winston’s three-game suspension ...

“A future violation of the Personal Conduct Policy will result in more substantial discipline, including a potential ban from the NFL.”

Westgate posted the Bucs as 9.5-point dogs in Week 1 matchup at New Orleans. Saints were favored by 7 (opened 7.5), prior to Winston's suspension.

Bucs are only slightly more likely to miss the playoffs, according to the Westgate. Following the news of the three-game suspension, Bucs now -600 to miss. They were -550.

Seattle Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor might have played his last NFL game, as a neck injury appears to have ended his career.

While he never used the word "retire," a series of tweets appears to state he is moving on from the game.

"To walk away from the game by choice is one thing, to walk away from the game because of the risk of paralysis is another," Chancellor tweeted.

The 30-year-old suffered a career-threatening neck injury last season and said in May he would continue playing if his health permitted.

"If my body says don't play, I'm not playing. I'll listen," Chancellor told 13News Now in May. "I'm a very good listener."

On Sunday, Chancellor said the "final test" of his injury "showed no healing."

"I've played through all types of bruises and injuries at a high level. But this one, I just can't ignore," he tweeted.

Chancellor, a four-time Pro Bowler, missed the final seven games of last season after he was injured while making a tackle late in a November win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Known for his hard hitting as part of the Seahawks' famed "Legion of Boom" defense, Chancellor signed a three-year, $36 million extension last summer. His $6.8 million base salary for 2018 became fully guaranteed in February.

49ers LB Reuben Foster is fined and suspended without pay for the first two games of 2018 for violating the NFL’s Conduct and Substances of Abuse policies.

The violations stem from a weapons offense and a misdemeanor drug offense, both of which were resolved earlier this year.

This off-season, three-time Pro-Bowl running back DeMarco Murray visited or spoke with the Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks, amongst others. He considered all. But retirement was most attractive.
