Overtime Rules and the spread
I have been thinking about the impact of the new OT rules and how it affects the game, but also how that affects my capping.
I dont think many people cap with OT as a main factor, but for me it plays a role in the playoffs and it makes a difference whether i take the dog to cover or not. Many times in the past i have taken a 3.5pt dog because i thought the game was close enough that even if they went to OT i would have a good chance of covering. Under the new rules this is now a dangerous assumption. If the fav takes 1st possession, they will try to score a TD to avoid the other team having a chance to beat them. And if thats the case, that 3.5 spread is useless. This is just a thought. I havent really formed a full opinion on it yet, but would like to hear others thoughts. whats your take? |

You cannot account for OT. If it happens and you get a bad beat out of it so be it.
Not sure why they changed it for the post-season. Should be a rule for the regular season also. If you lose the toss, then play D. Isn't that what Arizona did to GB last year? |

The thing that would the real kick in the dick would be betting on a team +8 in OT, the other team goes down and kicks a FG and your team throws a pick 6 the other way and lose by 9
