It would be in their best interest to keep him out for the year. Why rush him back say in December when this team may have only 1, 2 wins tops?

Put him on IR, and they have a crappy year like we all expect & they get the 1st pick in the draft & get their future QB in Luck. He becomes Manning's understudy for 2-3 years, similar to what Rodgers did in Green Bay.

When he retires, they are able to continue on without any growing pains.
