Pack to Farve...No Release.

Green Bay has officially told Brett Farve that he will not be granted an unconditional release, and would have to come back as a back-up to Aaron Rodgers. What this means is that the Pack is looking to dump him and get something in return. This is the best that the Pack can do, and hopefully forces Farve to stay away from football.

this is a retarded move by the packers...they will not be able to trade him and there is absolutely no way the team will succeed with the turmoil of having the teams franchise qb and popular figure in a backup role

He will either get traded, or not come back. The Pack has made it very clear that he will not be the starter in Green Bay this year. They want to move on, and that is the correct move. This was the ONLY move the Pack had. Why would you think that the Pack would release him and get nothing in return? Farve does not run the Pack. He either agrees to their terms, or he takes a hike.

Green bay must know that a team in the same division wanted favre. so this is the only way to send him out of the division i think he will be a dolphin or a raven. there not going to expect much for him but at least they get something

I think he will want to go to a contender. Green Bay would be smart to dump him to some AFC team. Right now, Baltimore looks like a good candidate. Miami has just too far to go, and is in too big of a rebuilding mode to go with an old QB, especially at his price.

no team is going to trade for a guy with 3 years and 39 mil left on his deal and not knowing how long he's gonna play for...they would basically have to give him away for free

Even if they get a 7th round draft pick for him, they win. They keep him out of the NFC North, which is their goal. This was obviously the best way for the Pack to take control of a situation that had gotten totally out of hand. Put Farve in his place. Either accept our terms, or stay retired.

This is a great move by the Packers. They finally realize they hold ALL the cards and will now get something for him or better yet, he will retire. Hats off to the Packers for standing by Rodgers. Great move by the Packers.

what do they have to lose? They already moved on without him..pretty appearant they dont want him to be starting qb and i would think he's too proud to want to be a backup. This way they get something outta nothing if another team is interested and if not..they start their season without him like planned.

Doubt Brohm amounts to 1/4 of Farve but time will tell!
