Packers switching to 3-4!

With the signing of Dom Capers as the defensive coordinator, the Packers will be switching from the 4-3 to the 3-4. I've always loved the 3-4 because you put more athletes on the field and have the ability to give many different looks. This looks like a permanent switch to ILB for AJ Hawk.

Any thoughts?

Pickett is running the nose tackle with Kampman and Jenkins as the two ends. Barnett and Hawk are the ILB's, but pass rushing OLB's are still needed.

Pickett doesn't fill the NT role very well we will need some help there, and we definitely need to fill OLB roles

Wouldn't be surprised if GB traded down the draft and selected BJ Raji from Boston College to be their nose tackle. It is going to be an interesting transition.

Green Bay needs lots of help on defense, especially at OLB. School is still out on Rodgers also. The Pack lost 7 games by 4points or less. That is not a good sign. I don't know if the Pack can deliver in the clutch.

once again, that was the defense losing 4th quarter leads... watch the games and you'll see

He wants out of Carolina and wants to go someplace where a 3-4 is played

He thinks he is better suited for the 34. Truth is, he is getting his as tore up by 380 lb tackles and is looking for a softer career

peppers is not a good fit at de in a 3-4 but he can play olb for them. i like the 3-4 better than the 4-3...would expect the ends in gb to get less sacks now

How many less?? Kampman had 10, Montgomery had 2, and EVERY other lineman had either 1, 1/2, or 0. Outside of Kampman nobody got sacks in GB.

kampman will probably see about 6-7 this year i would expect trying to adjust to the new scheme...dline in the 3-4 occupy the lineman mostly and the lbs run around and make the plays. nose tackle is the key...dont know much about theirs, they may draft one

Ryan Pickett looks to be the favorite to hold down the NT spot. Green Bay is armed with 4 picks in the to 80 this year and should get a NT, OLB, and probably a DE. Look for DJ Raiji, DT from BC, to maybe end up in GB. Haynesworth is FA this year.
