Patriots Draft 2008

Camon yo, admit it, Pats intrigue you.

PAts may look to go DB, however, the sack-fest from the Superbowl (and the accomponying lack of run) could have them looking O-line all of the sudden. Pioli and Billy are big belivers, staple of the dynasty has been a great o-line..Jake Long possbility here.

Chris Long dark-horse for a grat 3-4 guy, but he may not be there.

all the holes rjb? lmao.... they might have gotten more exposed against the NYG, but they also had a very subpar game. Pats had so many holes they went 18-1 and lost in the SB.

Johnny i agree, but i think they will be going DB; they type of O-Line players they like they can get later in the draft. so i think they wont deviate fom the original plan.

yes, they have several holes on defense, and will have some more on offense after this season. very fortunate to go 18-1...but they will not be there again without major revamping

we will see. i agree that it will be a rebuilding year, but its not rebuilding from scratch. they have enough talent to keep up. Thats just IMO. I dont see why the offense needs rebuilding... other than moss we aint losing anybody that i can think of...

lol zoomer... rebuilding was sarcasm bro.

Yeah they have some issues to deal with this off season and it would be silly to think they'll have another season like this past 1. They'll win at least 12 games IMO.

they will have to cut stallworth or pay him a shitload of money. they will need address how they run their offense next season as well, because towards the end of the year, teams just kept copying each other's game plans, play press and rush the qb. and it worked for the most part, kept the scoring down and let them stay in the game

well i do think that they start the rebuilding process this year, they need to get younger in multiple positions, but they are not done yet. they will be able to rebuild but maintain their competitiveness.
Fine, they will cut stallworth only of Moss goes; if moss stays then thats fine, Gaffney should be able to take that spot. they are not equal in talent but all they are used for is a disguise. as long as welker stays that passing will be fine.
Yeah they will work on the running game more to balance it more. Keep in mind Morris got hurt and between Morris and Maroney i like our chances to run over any defense. Yes the O-line has 1 terrible game, but for the rest of the seaon they performed pretty well. If the run is established they will be able to take a break from the relentless pressure that tired them out. I dont think a major overhaul is needed, just some depth.
Main concern is the defense for sure; but dont see it as glaring holes. The defense didnt get blown out; they made some huge stops, and if we can add some depth to allow the old guys to rest then i think we will be ok.
They might not be dominant all season next year, but i can tell you they will be in the playoffs and seeded.

offense will be fine, defense will need to see some major changes. they are losing a few guys, some are as old as dirt and can't play that great anymore. they are still a favorite, but have some holes to address

fewer than you think if the offense can opearte as expected and start taking more time off the clock instead of gunning it every time. if we can get some depth to give the veterans a rest i think they will be fine. just a couple of young DBs will be ok... we also have plenty of room under the cap, and a bunch of draft picks to trade.

Pats won't go to the Super Bowl again anytime soon.

I hope to God they start out being double digit favs again.

Ya but without Moss Welker won't be the freak that he was this season. God I wish Jerry would sign Randy!! Wishful thinking I know, but hey I can dream can't I.

i think that welker is effective as long as there is a deep threat. doesnt have to be Moss, it can someone that is not as good (stallworth). as long as they can stretch the field, welker would be very effective.
moss at dallas would be a nightmare... try keeping happy both owens and moss...

Think about it though.......Moss stretched the field and made Welker a beast. Just freaking imagine Moss stretching the field for TO and Witten!! Those two are just a little more talented than Welker and Stallworth don't you think. Hand it to Marion or McFadden (whichever the case may be) and you would have a freakish offense and I really think it could work between TO and Moss. They have both matured tremendously. This is a lot of wishful thinking though. The deal rumored with Detroit to get Roy Williams would work for me.
