Lightbulb Are the Patriots overrated headed in to this season?

They are favored to win it all again but.....

1. They really haven't won anything in 3+ years now
2. The secondary was weak last year and now they lost Samuel
3. Giants showed teams how to stop Moss/Brady
4. History says Super Bowl loser struggles next year

I say yes, the Patriots are overrated and although they should win the AFC East, I think that's about it for them this year. Other teams have caught up

True or False and why?

True...
#1 - Weak Division is ridiculous
#2 - Super Bowl Loser
#3 - the D will be weak this year
#4 - the pressure will still be on them

They certainly are over rated. San Diego should be the obvious favorite to win it all, especially with that schedule. The only break the Patsies really get is the fact that they play a very soft schedule also. The problems for the Patsies are mostly on defense, but Brady and Moss can not do it alone this year on offense. I would put them behind the Chargers and Colts and possibly the Cowboys. New England heads the 2nd echelon in the NFL.

No. I hate homers and he is about as big a homer as you can get. Homers know little about football. Only their team. They are also rather obnoxious excuse makers. But the fact of the matter is that San Diego gets both Indy and the Patsies at home, plus a division which is probably softer than the AFC East. In my book, that makes them the logical favorites, even though we alll know their track history in the playoffs, which is somewheres between terrible and pathetic.

i dont know about overrated...i mean, they are still the team of the decade (cheating or not). They still have enough star power to have a great year, but I dont think they come close to winning it all this year.

every game is going to be 40-34. teams are going to blitz brady on every down now, and whatever QB is facing them on any given week should be started in FFL

Say what you want but the road to the superbowl will travel through New England for a long time.

I am just happy that they won as I remeber the times when they were the laughing stock of the league.

Yes overrated!! As stated above, because of the D!! Offense will still be good, but that D will struggle with the LB's and DBacks!!

1. SD
2. Dallas
3. Indy
4. NE

Although Dallas and SD could be co #1's imo!!

I see a Dallas vs SD superbowl this year.

They shored up LB and DL I believe but haven't made up in secondary. If RH gets hurt again it will be a problem. Although, in the past when the Pats dump a guy like Samuel they fill someone in and a new star is born.

I think they may be a tad overrated, but should still be the favorite. And as for the Chargers being favored........LMAO.

all teams are overrated except for the San Diego Super Chargers, who are in fact extremely underrated. Not only will they win the Super Bowl, they will win the World Series, World Cup 2010, Olympics, NBA Championship, ArenaBowl, Grey Cup, just to name a few.

not sure how a team that went 16-0 can be overrated. they should be the favorites. that said, i dont think they'll win though.

I don't like Norm, so I have very little faith in making them #1. LOL. Lots of times, good teams that change to an inferior coach have one more good season before they bomb.

I wouldn't try to rate the Patriots, further than one game at a time that is...

I agree man,SD has been knocking on the door for a few years. They just keep getting better and better, its probably going to be their year (I'm not a SD fan either).

I am a SD fan, but I am very fair when evaluating them. I see this team alot like Indy a few years back. They kept knocking on the door, getting better each year, and finally won it. I think NE is still good, but have stepped back a bit, as well as Indy. I think it opens the door for SD and Dallas, 2 teams that have improved, but failed to get it done yet. They may both choke again, but I like their chances.
