Another franchise tag will cost the Skins more than $34 million for 2018, and they might be forced into a corner on that one. Also, this much seems clear: the 49ers, and noted Cousins enthusiast Kyle Shanahan, will be looking for a quarterback in March."
Thats the 2nd time they franchise them, it gets more expensive every year to discourage teams from doing it.

Yes you are right. He would have made around $22 million.

(3-0) in Garoppolo starts
(1-10) in other games

Jimmy G. has adjusted nicely to the new scheme, coaches and players around him. His QB rating is 24 points higher than any other QB on the roster this season and his completion % is 11 points higher. He is also averaging 336 passing yards per start.

I said it then and I will say it again, this was a great move for S.F. and it was so much better than getting an unknown rookie in round 2 that may or may not develop in a couple years. Everyone knows you cannot win without a QB and S.F. has to be feeling good about their future moving forward.

On the downside, every win keeps pushing that round 2 pick further back for N.E.

Why did New England only get a 2nd rounder for this guy? He's a player!

I think they took the best offer at the deadline and I do not think they wanted him in the AFC, which limited their choices.

Garoppolo looks like the the next Aaron Rodgers. Just like Rodgers watched and learned under Favre a few years Garoppolo has done the same behind Brady.

He has definitely been impressive in all of his starts. San Francisco might be a team to be reckoned with next season.

The 49ers are all in on Garoppolo, making the quarterback the highest-paid player in the NFL with a five-year, $137.5 million deal

$27.5 Mill / year

After Gronk was pictured with Britney Beth he posted career highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. Let's see if history repeats itself ...
