Paying for "premium" picks

First of all, I am new to the site...this has been a great place to get a little inside info for handicap betting in all major sports. Big NFL'er, CBB, & CFB fan here. Fairly "green" in betting on sports handicapping. Just looking for some outside opinions on "paying" for someone else's "premium picks/plays". I know it depends on the handicapper, but, I was wanting to get some insight and feedback from some of you one here on what you all think. Thanks in advance!

I agree why would anyone do that. If you want to see all of them for free go to the service section. Don't waste your money they all suck anyway.

Those services are little more than scams. They play both sides (offering opposing picks to a range of customers), so they keep 50% of their customers happy. Rinse and repeat. They continually cold call (sometimes harassingly) old and new customers to keep themselves in business.

As previously echoed...don't do it.

Thanks for the opinions...the only reason I am asking this is I am on the wrong end of my book this week, I'm paying and not collecting. I get to the point sometimes I start second guessing myself in the decisions I made on games. I didn't miss them to bad, but a miss is a miss. Maybe someone else sees OR saw something I didn't in the matchup that lead to me losing the bet. I do realize that NO ONE is going to get them all correct every single time, but a fairly decent percentage would suffice. May I ask where I could find the "service section" please? Thanks!

Newsletter/info section. There are WAAAAY better Cappers here then you'll find from any services and it's free here. Unless you're fading some of these clowns don't waste your money.

Gob, Sweetleaf, Mindsink, Chris & pwherr...thank you! I really enjoy betting on games because I find myself watching certain games that I normally would watch to the end, i.e Rams/Seahawks, & Steelers/Browns just because I have something riding on them. I am in no way fading any of those guys (pay for picks). To me when someone gets a hand in my pocket I want to put BOTH of my hands in theirs.

The whole subject of services has always mythed me. If you are really good at sports betting, you don't need to sell your bets. You just bet them large yourself and maybe share them with a friend or two if you so please.

the best handicappers in the world, dont quite hit 60% of their plays long term

some , actually very few, actually share their model/system thus sharing their plays for a price

of those that sell picks, not all are truly handicappers... and only a small % are actually good, the majority are only good at marketing themselves

but even the good services cut into your profits significantly, which has to be calculated

then of course even the best services have bad years

in the end not worth it even for the best proven services, unless the cost of of the service is relative to your bank roll

if you have a 100k bank roll, your average play is for 1k, and the service costs 5k, then maybe

otherwise if you bet 100$ a game and the service costs 5k, well you see the picture

some bad services have the gall to charge a lot for their picks, but even with the ones that are proven...

the price is of course based on past performance only no guarantee of future success.

A proven service isnt one good year either... its several ...

its easy to flame out quick in that business, and one hot year does not a handicapper make

I totally agree with you Romanowski...I was just testing the waters with that train of thought, (paying for picks). Like I said in an earlier post...I start second guessing my decisions AFTER the fact and once you get in a hole a little I start think ing to myself, when is the bleeding going to stop (losing bets). Like you said, "they" (pay for pick guys) are only as good as their next pick/bet. Im not in a panic mode, but I am one of these guys that once I get down, I want to get back up just as quick. I would really like to follow a few of you guys down the road and just stick to a few "premium" type picks/plays you all suggest. My only goal is to make a decent profit and/or break even on my worst weeks. I'm just trying to get a little extra cash flow weekly/monthly. I am not trying to make a living at it. Thanks for all the help guys!

The best thing about this post is that YOU lost your money and no one else. Why would you want to pay for a service and lose more money? There are plenty of good cappers here that will give out good explanations for the games they are capping!
