Peyton Manning

I am a huge Manning fan and I'm really sad that he is missing from this NFL season. The thing that I am most surprised about is the obvious impact that one player has on this organization. At first I wasnt all that surprised but as the weeks go on and Indy is still winless it absolutly amazes me that in a team sport on player could have this team at 4-1 vs 0-5 the only game that I think they would have lost is possibly the opener against Houston.

There are lots of people that dont like Manning and I like to use that as a screening tool, people that dont like Peyton probably dont like football all that much, we are lucky to be watching the game at a time where some of the best QB's to ever play the game take the field every Sunday and with Peyton missing from that this season is a little lackluster. Even when Tom Brady missed a season the Patriots organization went 11-5 with a championship defense and a decent backup.

To the people that say Manning doesnt measure up to some of the other greats in history I counter that argument with this season, never in the history of football has one individual been able to impact a team like Peyton Manning has.

He doesn't measure up to Brady. But to think 1 player is the team especially in the NFL is disturbing. Makes me wonder who is really running Indy.

And the Brady Manning argument lives on, it seems that pats fans are the only ones that really try and make it. Brady is a great QB he will go to the hall of fame and he deserves to but Peyton Manning he is not. Brady has all the advantages the Manning doesnt have, a hall of fame coach and a championship defense. If Manning could have the same advantages imagine the team that Indy would be, give him a Ravens defense or a steeler defense is there a team that could beat them?

he clearly doesn't measure up to brady. he is terrible to average in the playoffs and thats where it counts. the nfl did everything in their power to get him to the super bowl, the calls against the steelers in 2005-06 playoff game at indy were absolutely egregious and he still couldn't beat em, the calls against san diego at indy in 2007-08 playoffs were even worse, again still couldn't win. he needed a bucketful of extremely questionable interference calls against new england while the pats receivers were getting mugged and getting no calls to finally beat em and then all he had to do was show up against rex grossman to get a trophy and he stunk against new orleans in his other super bowl appearance. he is obviously a very good qb but there is no way he is in top 5 of all time in fact he might not be in top 10. here is my list i would take ahead of him (if i was interested in winning titles which i am, as a long suffering vikings fan),since i've been watching football since age of 4 (1974)

1a joe montana
1b tom brady (clearly top 2 imo) the rest in any order
3.aaron rodgers
4.favre
5.elway
6.bradshaw
7.steve young
8.aikman
9.marino
10.staubach
11. fouts

btw how many wins do you think the vikings would have this year if they didn't have that clown mcnabb at the helm? i'd say 4-5 as well

Brady is way better...............

Colts just dont have a competent back-up QB behind him and horrible coaching.

Manning has won ONE SB.

a lot of teams would be 0-5 with painter and collins at QB. Indy having terrible backups doesn't make Manning the best ever

indy been very competitive in most games despite being winless, if they had a halfway decent coach who wasn't a completely worthless nutrider or a halfway decent backup qb they would have at least 2 wins.

and really how good of a team do you expect them to be able to build around peyton when he eats up so much of the salary cap? if he wants 25 mil a year fine but then he doesn't get to use poor supporting cast as an excuse.

and while brady may have had better defenses behind him, he also has had far worse skill position players helping him on offense, he has never had the luxury of playing with an elite rb like james, or a future hof wr like harrison. dallas clark may be a future hof at te also, the list goes on. bottom line is brady is the far superior big game player and is immeasurably better at playing real outdoor football in the elements while peyton wilts outside his comfy dome like the pansy he is, ie the game in new england where he only put up 3 frigging points on the board. lmao but i guess that was the defense's fault huh?

go to bradys wikipedia and check out all the fun stats.

if, say over the course of his career he wins 4-5 superbowls along with these records and other near wins (really the crushing playoff losses are only cause you are competitive enough to be there in the first place. Football gods are gonna screw ya here and there) .. also, he plays in the elements..

you have to say he is the greatest and put aside nostalgia for joe.

manning is not in this category but the one behind it.

favre? really??
