Peyton Manning trade talk

The Colts organization have started playing with idea of winning the Luck sweepstakes, and if they do trading Peyton Manning for futures.

SO...where does he go and how many rings can he get with that team? For the sake of the argument lets say that he plays 3 more good years of Peyton like football and possibly 2 more after that

My vote says Baltimore makes the most sense, they are only a QB away from being a SB favorite with the running game that they have and the defense they have every year Manning could take that team to a championship every year he played there and win at least 2

Love to hear your thoughts, these threads are always alotta fun!

Anyone can be traded and when the organization starts playing the what if game the thought has at least crossed their mind, and its not a crazy notion to think that the organization is thinking about the future

He won't be what he was. No QB is after that kind of surgery. eventually they will trade him in like 2 years just to get something for him. But not thie year or next year for sure.

most people would have thought the same thing about favre a few years back...you can never say never when it comes to an aging and/or seriously injured player.

Peyton's health will be in question for the rest of his career....will be interesting to see what happens if the Colts do end up with the first pick.

If the Colts end up with the first pick, they will pick Luck. If you are going to learn the pro game, learn it from one of the best, and Manning ccertainly was that.

they'd pick luck and keep manning. Luck on bench for 1-2 yrs. It would be the smartest way to play that investment ever.
But the dolphins will get luck.

Luck will learn from Manning if/when the Colts get the 1st draft pick. Possible Favre/Rodgers Situation here, except without all the bullshit Favre drama. One of the best QBs to learn under

People thought Brady was going to get traded after his injury.

I agree with the above. Who ever they draft as his replacement will learn. Just like Ryan Mallet will take over when Brady is done.

If the Colts get the #1 Pick and Manning is going to play next year, you find the team that will give you the most draft picks for him and trade that pick.
If you have watched the colts at all this year, they need help all across the board. They have the worst secondary in the NFL.
Luck sitting on the bench behing Manning doesn't make the Colts better next year. Plus, you never know how will the QB will pan out.

I mean who truly expected Aaron Rodgers to be a top level QB? Just my 2 cents on the situation and this is based on a lot of 'ifs'.

^^ Yes but just the potential of Manning playing next year will make the Colts better, even if he is not on top of his game.

There is no guarantee that if/when Manning plays again, he will be the same player. He had some major surgery and after one hit, he may be forced back to the sidelines. This kid Luck seems to be the best prospect since Manning. I think the Colts would be crazy not to draft him & when Manning calls it quits, they can continue without skipping a beat.
