Compare that to what Leonard Little got not only once, but twice. Unbelievable

After leaving a birthday party drunk in 1998, Little crashed into and killed Susan Gutweiler in St. Louis, MO. When tested, his blood alcohol level measured 0.19 percent, a level that exceeds the statutory level of intoxication of 0.08 in the state of Missouri. Little received 90 days in jail, four years probation and 1000 hours of community service.

Second arrest
Six years later, in 2004, Little was again arrested for drunk driving and speeding.[5] The probable cause statement filed by police said Little had bloodshot and watery eyes, smelled of alcohol and failed three sobriety tests. [6] Because of Little's 1999 guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter in his drunken-driving crash case, prosecutors charged him as a persistent offender. This made it a felony case.[6] Little was acquitted of driving while intoxicated, but was convicted only of the misdemeanor speeding charge.

Im sorry but 2 years is absolute bullshit. This isnt a gang banger on the streets this is a NFL player. Not that he should get off clean but the guy shot himself and goes to jail for 2 years. Thats unreal.

Makes me sick states have different laws. Donte Stallworth kills someone and will play before Plax. And ****in Lenard Little should be in jail for life.

The legal pendulum has turned for these guys

Where once they were given more lenient sentences for these things because of their legal teams, celebrity status etc., they are now getting way more stringent sentences than the general public to be made an example of.

Jack Ford who was a prosecutor, defense laywer etc and is now on Court TV was on "Mike and Mike" a couple weeks ago and said Vick was given a way more stiff sentence than a normal offendor doing the same thing.

The reason Vick's sentence was so harsh was because his was a federal crime.

The federal system has whats called "sentencing guidelines" which up to a couple of years ago, following them was mandatory no matter what. It's a point system that takes into account past record, severity of crime, stuff like that and whatever the guidelines add up to, that's the sentence you get - the judge was required to follow them.

Now the sentencing guidelines are no longer mandatory, there are only used as a guide, but from what I understand, judges VERY rarely deviate from them. Maybe as more time passes, they will start using more discretion with sentencing. Also with Vick, there is no federal parole, so he served all of what he was sentenced.

You may already know this Gerk, if I remember right you work in the legal field - but some may not.
