Pro Bowl before Super Bowl - What do you think?

Quite frankly....I think it is the worst idea ever. I realize they are trying to get more recognition for the Pro Bowl, but did the NFL honestly think this one through?

If my team is in the Super Bowl and my QB is starting in the Pro Bowl, do you honestly think I am going to let him take any chance at getting hurt? HELL NO!

Obviously this will make the game far less interesting depending on what teams are in the Super Bowl. For example, what if Minnesota makes the Super Bowl? The NFC Pro Bowl roster immediately adds 8 bench players....it's a joke.

What do you guys think???

I didnt know the NFL was suggesting this, its of course a ridiculous idea

only reason theyd want it is more interest in the game, doubt the owners will be on board

its stupid

if a pro bowler is playing in super bowl, they are replaced on pro bowl team i believe, just the same as injury replacement

had no idea

more I think about it it wont change things much...

players who are not in the superbowl will take it as lightly as they would otherwise

still a light contact, offensive show....Ivs never watched it, but ive bet on it

NC, clearly going to be replaced. Would make no sense for them to play in the game with a super bowl coming the next week.

Where it is even worse is the fact of the teams that lost the week before in the Conference Championships as I doubt they have any interest in playing in meaningless game the next week.

The league's plan is for players on the AFC and NFC championship squads not to take part in the Pro Bowl.

thats what I thought... and if this is the case I like the idea. Noone watches pro bowl after SB + the players will prob play harder while the spotlight is still on

personally wont watch it before the SB either - but i bet more ppl do

and the fact that it's in the super bowl city the week before the super bowl will help its ratings too

every other all star game is mid season but football - i have no problem with it being before super bowl

Does it carry the same weight as the other sports - winner gets home field for their conference/league in the next year's championship?
