Prognosticator's Week 3 Picks Including Two Best Bets (2-0)

Last week both Best Bets were easy winners (GB & Atlanta). Oakland gave up a late TD and Farve was in a giving mood as both regular plays did not fare as well.

To date:
Best Bets: 2-0
Regular Plays: 0-2

This week looks like a very strong card. Here we go ....

Best Bet: Take New England -14 vs Buffalo
Buffalo will be outmatched in every facet of this game. New England will be focused after a disappointing loss to the Jets - a game they should have won. Buffalo is 3-9-1 ATS versus the Pats and NE is a stellar 18-5 ATS after a straight up loss. This game will not be close and don't expect Belichick to loosen the throttle if the game gets out of hand - its not his style. NE 45, Buffalo 3

Best Bet: Take Baltimore -10.5 vs Cleveland
The Ravens were given a tough draw with road trips versus the Jets and the Bengals to begin the 2010 campaign. This team (especially the offense) is absolutely ready to hand it to Cleveland in their first home game of the year. Baltimore has dominated the last 4 meetings with Cleveland going a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS. They have also outscored Cleveland to the tune of 115-40! Don't be afraid of the big line - the league is tiered once again. Ravens 27, Browns 10.

Regular Play: Take Steelers -3 vs Tampa (almost a Best Bet)

Regular Play: Take Minny -11 vs Detroit

Good luck!

I dont know I do like the Pats, but i am not so sure on the Viks. Minny as been not so hott on offense this year and the lions can score a good amount of points.

Thanks for the comments. I am 100% sure about NE - no worries there.

I agree that Baltimore's offense has some question marks however, consider their schedule up to now ... Jets and Cincy to begin the season was a brutal draw from the NFL. Cleveland's D has improved - but not in the same league as the Jets and Cincy. I see at least 27 points for Baltimore but more importantly, very few pickings for Cleveland's D.

Pitt's defense should be able to shut down a young Tampa offense that has been the beneficiary of an easy schedule. Freeman will be pressured all day - I don't see TB scoring all that much. The game will be ugly ... but think about it ... in an ugly fought defensive battle ... how can someone not take the Steelers?

Although I like Minny ... I have the most concern about this pick. If Minny comes to play and utilizes AP to set up the pass then I see this as an easy cover. If Minny tries to win it on the arm of Favre, this may be a close game. One thing is for sure - and its the reason I like this game ... Detroit will not be able to put up many points against the Minny D and should offer a plethora of mistakes - specifically fumbles and INT's.

Good luck to all!
