Post Rank the playoff teams head coaches

If it comes down to coaching - who do you want on your sideline out of the playoff teams if the game is on the line and you need that critical decision?

This was actually hard as more than half of these names are not in the group generally considered of "best coaches", at least yet

1. Bill Bellichick - even though things have backfired on him this year a bunch, I still think he gets the nod.

2. Sean Payton - A Parcells guy, he can obviously call an offensive game as well as anyone.

3. Ken Whisenhunt - guy learned under Cowher, took Arizona to a Super Bowl already.

4. Norv Turner - Norv fought through the stigma of being a terrible head coach but you know what - he's pretty good!

5. Andy Reid - Reid is a good coach, I am not sure if he is a great coach.

6. John Harbaugh - Football family & I like the way he coaches. Turned around Ravens with a rookie QB last year.

7. Wade Phillips - Where do you put this guy? You know he's a heck of a D coordinator. Maybe he don't get enough credit. I think jerry likes him mostly because he's a "yes sir" man.

8. Jim Caldwell - Who coaches this team? Him or Peyton? I don't know, maybe not fair but haven't seen him with game on the line yet and how he reacts in a playoff game.

9. Rex Ryan - I don't know. I can't stand him but he can coach defense without a doubt

10. Mike McCarthy - Aaron Rodgers makes McCarthy look good

11. Brad Childress - Another guy that just doesn't do it for me. Just doesn't look like a reach coach. lol

12. Marvin Lewis - people wanted this guy fired just last year

I am not sure what's right or wrong but this list was hard except #1 really.

Norv 3-2 in his 2 playoffs with the Chargers and 32-16 in the regular season. While guiding the Chargers to the longest active streak in the NFL of scoring at least 20 points in a game...stands at 28. So underrated

Also, he has some crazy record when facing a team for the 2nd time in a season...like 2 losses i think

yeah, what, did the eagles miss the playoffs once this decade? or twice?

not many coaches keep a team competitive for that long, no matter the talent - through injuries - and in one of the most competitive divisions year in and year out over same time frame

he's top coach in this league

He is the worst in game coach and adjustment making coaches I have seen. He is a good head coach as The Iggles are always in it. But if u watch the NFC Tiltle games he has lost they were basically all do to not being able to adjust to the other teams schemes in the 2nd half.

yeah i agree with some of that - he hasn't proven he can win a big game - he doesnt seem to come up with good gameplans for them. But, on this list, who has proven they can win the big game? Belicheck, who I have him behind, and Whisenhunt. I dont think any of the others have won a big game as a head coach either

Trust me Ups I know what ur saying the guys w-l record is excellent . He cannot figure out another teams 2nd half gameplan and he refuses to adjust his own to what is going on in the game. Just look at yesterday 8rushes wtf is that about.
