The rookieees monday night write~up colts vs dolphins

INDY VS MIAMI

both of these teams finished last season on winning notes...the colts closed out the season with 9 straight wins while the dolphins won 9 of their last 10..... They both opened this years season with many questions....

COLTS MAIN QUESTIONS ~

how would they fare without marvin harrison???? .... Well peyton manning threw for 73% and all day to reggie wayne last week, 14 times in fact and completed 10 of them for 169 yards... Without anthony gonzales and a week to prepare without him for this game you can bet reggie and dallas clark will be the focal point of the offense once again

can they establish the run game this season??? Well 71 yards and 2.3 ypc didnt address that question as j.addai and d.brown could'nt find anything... If you take away both of their longest runs addai (13 yards) and browns (12 yards) they combined to run 46 yards on 26 carries.... You dont need to figure out the math as poor as that was..... To compare how bad that game really was, one only has to look at the jaguars run defense this week against another passing first team, the arizona cardinals.... Both b.wells and t. Hightower rushed for 116 yards on 22 carries.....

DOLPHINS MAIN QUESTIONS ~

can they continue to build where they left off last season against a tougher schedule???? Well last weeks game they just looked out of sync, the chemistry wasnt mixed right... Box score numbers showed that they were pretty even with atlanta in the pass game and the run game but what really hurt them last week was the turnovers.... For this miami dolphin team that was so disciplined last season in limiting its mistakes (13 turnovers) , having 4 in their first game was not what tony sparano and bill parcells expected.... You can be sure that was adressed all week in practice...

ROOKIEEES FINAL THOUGHT:

all over places everywhere you are hearing about miamis secondary and how they will get exposed by peyton manning tonight..... I think that will be a little overrated as both of miamis safties g.wilson and y.bell will be used frequently to help in preventing reggie wayne from having another outstanding game... The problem is that with miami cheating their safties this will create the middle open and many looks to dallas clark.... This will be indys biggest mismatch as the dolphins lbs imo arent that good in coverage... With peyton manning being one of the better qb's at reading the blitz and audibling, miami will have to disguise thier blitz packages and come from both sides of the line in this game to bring penetration on manning... Especially on the blind side where left tackle charlie johnson is hurting...on another note, peyton manning has had his toughest games against 3-4 defenses in which miami uses.... Miami will shut down the run game down once again as chowder channing and joey porter are good at closing up gaps and running line to line with the running backs.... This will force indy to rely once again on the passing game if the run game doesnt get started early.....

Miami goal in this game is to limit the mistakes it had last week while keeping peyton off the field and that is with ball control..... Former raider jake grove makes running between the tackles so much easier.... The dolphins running backs will need to mix it up with counters, wild kat formations , reverses and screens to get shorter plays on 2nd and 3rd down behind their big offensive line.... This will prevent freeney / mathis from causing havoc on pennington when he gets in long yardage situations...

Like i said this game is going to be a good one and could go either way....indy would love to have this game as playoff hopefuls the patriots, titans, steelers, and chargers all lost in week 2 .... One game may not mean much but to be a game up on everyone on this 4 of 5 road trip that starts tonight is a positive thing...especially after 11-5 new england didnt make the playoffs last year....

But i will be playing with the dolphins tonight and the under.... As imo parcells is still working his magic with sparano and these dolphins.... You can bet that there wont be 4 turnovers this week... I also think he knows that this team he has really is a terrible starting team and that needs to be addressed.... The dolphins have started 0-2 to start the season 4 out of the last 5 years and can get the trifecta 3 times in a row with a loss here at home tonight....they travel to the west coast to face a revenging san diego team , whom they beat last season 17-10 and then come back home to face double revenger buffalo....its easy to say they want this game just as bad as the colts do..... with them being at home and the factors i spoke about earlier ~~~ i have to side with them in a low scoring game
