Roger Goodell reduces Ben Roethlisberger's suspension to four games

As expected, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has reduced Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's suspension to four games.

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network was the first to report that Goodell reduced the suspension, after Roethlisberger met with Goodell today.

Roethlisberger was suspended under the league's personal conduct policy this offseason after he was accused of sexual assault. Goodell had previously said Roethlisberger would have his suspension reduced from six to four games if he stayed out of trouble, and more recently Goodell said Roethlisberger had done everything asked of him and more.

From what I hear, Roethlisberger initially asked for 3 games, Goodell said no, Roethlisberger wouldnt take no for an answer, forced him to the ground, removed his pants, and finally Goodell relented and reduced it to 4...........

i'm fine with the suspension he got.....as for arguments for him getting less games, i'm tired of hearing "yeah but blah blah blah did this and didn't get anything"

I was hopeful that they would reduce the suspension to three games.
Ben Roethlisberger should be punished for his actions not us, the fans.
They should have given him two games and a monster fine, like millions of dollars.
He cannot play until week #6 due to the bye, so basically the Steelers have little chance to enter the play-offs this season. Granted the offensive line is average at best and this is not a Superbowl team, but with this long suspension they have little hope.

Don't give up this is the best news Steeler fans could have asked for. In the long run Dennis will get some much needed work. If he can some how win 2 of the 4 games we are still in it. Besides I believe Ben needed to sit so he understands that he is not bigger then the game. Ben is a punk and he took it upon himself to ruin things for all of us. Don't forget that Ben is the phuck up in all this.

How can anyone in the football community be surprised? Its like in baseball, player gets suspended for 4 games, he appeals & its reduced to 2-3. In this case, Goddell liked what he saw, so he reduces it, no surprise for me.

Local beat writer was in lockeroom and said that today it seemed liked it hit Ben.. Hey I am going to miss four games and I let the team down.. Walking around to each player with his head hanging .. A league spokesman clarified that Mr. Roethlisberger can talk to teammates, but not about Steelers-related matters, he cannot even speak to them about football strategy.


Goddell also said he will hire personal baby sitter to watch over him to make sure he doesnt violate any freedom of speech laws..
