Thumbs down Roy Williams to the Bears

Not sure why the Bears would go this route. This guy can not handle being anything more than a #2 or #3 wide receiver.

Waste of a move here

He rejoins Martz and the receivers coach of the Bears from his best year in Detroit. One would have to compare him to the receivers the Bears have. He is definitely a #1 on their squad, but far from a #1 elsewhere. According to Tom Thayer, Bears former guard from 85 team, now a broadcaster, R W is a much better blocker than the Bears other receivers. So they cut both Rasheed and Aramashdu and added RW, an improvement. But there certainly were better choices.

Can the Bears go after a big name in the FA Pool? Yes, as they were $30,000,000 under the cap. Will they? We will shortly know.

Williams is still a big guy which makes him a red zone improvement. But, like was said above he's not a guy that'll scare anyone. Bears have a tough schedule this year too. Cutler's going to get sacked a lot again this year.

I have no clue what the Bears are doing. They have the money and are being cheap again. Roy Williams is a never has been and brings nothing but some height in the red zone. I'd rather have Greg Olsen line up than Roy Williams.

They got rid of the bust out big TE from SD (Was warned here by someone who shall remain nameless), Des Clark and Olsen..brought in a decent blocking TE from Pitt, a necessity to help block for Dempster, I mean Cutler.

Everything that has been done so far points to this offense being totally Martz'. Maybe borrowed the WS slogan, "All In" on Martz

One thing that may have played a hand into signing RW, he is familar with the Martz system and with no off season workouts....can't hurt

Yea... I don't think it was a bad sign either. Not sure why Dallas got rid of him, but maybe we will find out.

I didn't say I either liked, or disliked the signing. I just passed along what is filling the airwaves here.

Dallas made cuts because they were about 20 millinon or so above the cap and someone had to go.

RW couldn't handle the pressure when he showed up in Dallas, brought about by the draft choices JJ gave up for him. Everyone thought he was going to be the #1 guy, but according to Nate Newton, he and Romo were never on the same page.

This years Draft, Wisconsin, California, Oregon State, west virginia

2010 1st three picks Florida, Northwestern, Kansas State

I don't think it is the schools as much as who is doing the drafting, JA
