SD question for anyone who can help

All week I have been high on the Chargers and to be honest with you I have also been high all week. I want to know what you think about Rivers not playing. Will their be down time for the Chargers and will they be as productive on offense ? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

I think it takes a good leader to win the play-offs,but a good defense has been working with New England and San Deigo has that,+ 14 pts.BOL sunday.

The cold weather and the fact that Rivers is not playing has me wondering who to take. I am also a little worried about playing in New England. The home field advantage is huge. Thanks rmac.

Right now I am struggling with the same scenario. The only thing that I am sure of is 1 dog will cover.Which one is the struggle,as New England has been a non covering bitch the last what? 7 or 8 games. Is it their turn to cover this week? you can look at my playoff threads and I have been riding SD in both their games. Also, I was one of the first to post SD over Indy as a play.I generally dont like laying over 6 points on any team. But I am going to wait a few hours and look for line movement as the weekend money flows into the books.

The last time I checked, both lines were going up. New England to 14 1/2 and Green Bay to 7 1/2. When the lines opened up at 15 and 7, I just played a Teaser, like I did last week. I took the Pack even and the Chargers at +22, with the Overs in both games. It worked last week, so I figured "what the hell, give it another shot".

i'm pretty sure rivers is going to play...if Volek plays I think there will be some dropoff but he's gotten mostly all of the reps this week and I would expect him to play decently. The chargers key in this game will be their ability to run well and their defense

rjb, The believe the Chargers can run on them but the thing that scares me is that if they can't then they will have to throw. Pats will put 8 in the box and force you into bad situation. I believe the best play in this game may be the under. I really like the defensive backs for the Chargers. I believe they can pick Brady and maybe cause of a few 3 and outs. Still up in the air on this one, puch me over the edge rjb. lol

well i'm on them obviously because i believe in their talent...but also, if u look at the way the patriots have played defense over the last 7 or 8 games...it is not great at all. they've consistently given up points to average qbs...feeley, boller, eli, garrard last week...i think the chargers can keep this a game just for the mere fact that pats defense will have a hard time stopping their offense

I believe this team is coming in loose as well...nobody giving them a shot at all to win, and now with the injuries everyone saying the pats should punch their ticket to az. a team is dangerous when they feel like there is nothing to lose and everyone is counting them out...as we saw how the chargers performed last week in the same scenario

I believe that the Chargers came into the playoffs rested and ready to go. These injuries are key but still something tells me that they have a shot and the 14 points looks really sweet about now. I am praying the Chargers knock them off. I punched a ticket a few weeks ago for the Chargers to go all the way. I may be a bigger SD fan then you this week. lol

Lets not forget the Chargers dont just have Tomlinson. Turner and Sproles are more than capable of breaking the running game wide open behind that line. Is anybody on Pats D as quick as Sproles? He flew by the Indy D last week. Damn that boy is quick.

A note on Rivers...If he has two sprained MCL's he will play. Its not like hes Steve Young scrambling out of the pocket anyway. If he does have a partially torn ACL he should not play because he will be fuked for next year. And with the pressure the Pats are going to try and put on Rivers, he will surely tear that fuker. You dont just bounce back from an ACL. Its a good 18-24 months until you are 100%

So many things against Chargers in this game like traveling to East Coast, Single digit wind chill, Injuries to starting QB, RB, TE, DT, etc., and pretty much no experience at this level on this stage.

So why is the line not going up? my book is 56% pats and 44% chargers yet the line dropped to 14 and only going to 14.5 at some books. Seems to me with all these things against them line should be going the other direction.
