I know our AFC West resident experts disagree, but I like Cutler

strong and accurate arm, and in today's NFL a good QB is gold

The Bears picked him up on the cheap too, trade value wise and money wise

If Cutler and McDaniel's relationship went on the downward spiral after McDaniel entertained an offer for Cassel

then the Branocos should have made damn sure they got Cassel

Orton<Cassel<Cutler IMO

Mcdaniel is supposed to be very smart, both defensively and offensively

Supposedly his knowledge of defensive schemes helped him to teach offense, and specifically QB play

I believe Belichek when he says hes a hard worker, son of coach etc

Just may lack the social skills to be a successful HC in the NFL though

Rome I agree with you if Cutler grows up a bit then the Bears made themselves a great trade. I know the Bears in this forum were being laughed at for this trade but then and now I still think this was a very good trade for them as long as Cutler matures some because I still have questions about his leadership skills but not his abilities.

As for the Broncos I really think this is going to be a very long year in the Mile High City

All of this bad press is great.

I had mentioned on another forum that I was leaning toward Denver +3 as my best bet on the NFLX week one card. I had said that the vast number of open roster spots on this Broncos team, greatly outnumbers the open spots on the Niners roster. McDaniel as the rookie, has to take this game far more seriously than Singletary. In fact, considering the way his players reacted to him last year, Singletary aside from the QB selection which has probably already been decided also, will be more focused on keeping his blue chips healthy than anything else.

All of this bad press is only giving the Broncos more motivation in this game to quiet the peanut gallery by trampling over San Francisco.

Having Niners ex-coach Nolan as the Broncos DC adds another dimension, as ex-coaches are especially hot in the role of DC versus their former employers.

You will not go wrong betting Denver +3 over SF

ps - The girls that write for those sports news websites really have no clue.

Orton went 15-1 in the year the Bears had a solid offensive line.

The media bashing of him is sick and without merit.

15-1 behind a great not good offensive line, and still rarely threw the ball over 20 yards

that should tell the whole story, ask a Bears fan if they like Orton
