Is this some of the best skill/play from QB's EVER ?

Maybe I am just bored, and suffering from some STM, but thinking about this for a second here I just thought "damn.. theres a lot of good QBs out there"

Is it any wonder everyone keeps talking about the "parody" today in the NFL ? Good QB play leads to W's...

Specifically the young talent out there...

Rams... Bradford
Lions... Stafford
Falcons... Ryan
Packers... Rodgers
Chargers... Rivers
Texans... Shaub
Chicago... Cutler
Ravens... Flacco
Buccaneers... Freeman
Titans... Young (Was having his best year IMO, but recently...??)
Jets... Sanchez (I know how some feel about him, but most consider decent)
Bills... Fitzpatrick (playing beter than most thought.. only 28..)

Of course you have the 2 gems...

Colts... Manning
Patriots... Brady

Solid QB's who have been around a bit, but might not be growing anymore...

Saints... Brees
Washington... Mcnabb
Steelers... Rothlesbaga
Cowboys... Romo
Giants... Manning
Eagles... Vick
Cincy... Palmer
Denver... Orton (far from being considered bad right now)

Rivers should not be included in any category with Cutler or Flacco ever. His numbers the last 3 almost 4 seasons are as good/better than anyone in the league

Rivers has been improving every year. It doesn't look like he has flat lined yet.. to me at least. Not really any categories here though... too defensive rjb

He is not really bad to where cincy really has to work their draft around a QB though.. or trade for one I don't think. I think of the teams with a player not on the list above.. they would all take Palmer.. no? I haven't watched enough of the bengals to really argue one way.. his #'s are really bad.. so maybe he did fall off a lot this year.

Then I would suggest you add me to your ignore list.. just like I am adding you to mine right now. I put everyone that I think is completely worthless on there..you were headed there a while ago, but that -single- post you made bought you some time... that time has run out. Not many make it on so you have something to be proud of I suppose

That's a great observation about parity in the league and the sheer volume of young talented QBs, but at the risk of being called a homer, you absolutely have to put Brees in with Manning and Brady.

"Solid QB's who have been around a bit, but might not be growing anymore..."

Brees is currently #4 in passing yards with 49 yards separating him from first (3321yds), 301 yards per game avg. He's #1 in completion % at 68.6% (313/456). Tied for #1 in TDs (23TDs). #1 in 1st downs. His rating is down a bit this year at 92.7 and the biggest knock is the 15 INTs. I've watched just about every minute of every Saints game this year and he's thrown some stinkers, but it would be interesting to replay every pick to see just how many were tipped by the receivers (that tip by Jimmy Graham on Thanksgiving Day immediately comes to mind.). The Saints also lead the league in 3rd down efficiency, in great part to QB play. He's already passed for 33,967 yds in his 10th season which is more than Brady and Tom's been in the league a year longer. He missed Dan Marino's single season yardage record by 15 measly yards in 2008 (Marino 5084. Brees 5069). He set the new single season completion % record just this past January with 70.6%, a record held by Ken Anderson since 1982. And I almost forgot one minor fact: he brought the New Orleans Saints to the Super Bowl and won it just 10 months ago. Did you ever think the Saints would win a Championship in your lifetime? This guy is NOT over the hill. There is no comparison between him and this list of B-list QBs except with maybe Big Ben. I'm sure quite a few Mallers here could make a strong argument for Ben to be included with the "gems", too. Vick's stock is definitely on the rise and it appears that he's got some strong years ahead of him. Eli's just not consistent enough. Not trying to come off like a smug jerk here. Just pining for the respect the man deserves. Peace.

You guys are taking the groupings too seriously here... they are not made based on skill or any type of ranking. They were quickly made more based on QBs more likely to improve (or decline).. QBs I thought were pretty much done growing for the most part and would continue to play at their level (whatever that may be).. and of course the 2 QBs most everyone thinks are on a level of their own...for now.

I know SD fans want to say Rivers is on the same level as Manning/Brady... and NO fans might want to say Brees is as well, but its just not so...

Either way you guys kinds missing the points of the groups I think, but I will throw together a QB power ranking list for you guys if you want.

That said.. good post kartell
