THE Sports PROFIT...NFL Championship Early Action

Good Day Ladies and Gentlemen:

Large play for us in NFL next weekend, juice sure to rise, so early it is.

A recap of last week first. We had a great day of football on Saturday, winning both plays and 5.54 units in the process and combined with a small profit in pucks, we finished the week with +2.36 units of PROFIT. Just short of 20 units of PROFIT earned over the past three weeks. A nice run indeed.

Let's get to next Sunday's action shall we.

Sunday, January 23rd:

take: Green Bay Packers -3 -112....5 units....at Chicago Bears, game time is 3 p.m. e.s.t...(analysis to come later).

strong consideration for Monday January 17th:
New Jersey +110 at NY Islanders
Carolina/Boston Under 5.5
UCONN -1.5 vs Villanova
Atlanta +108 at Florida

cheers, PROFIT

Sunday, January 23rd:

take: Green Bay Packers -3 -112....5 units.....at Chicago Bears, game time is 3 p.m. e.s.t....A favorite on the road in hostile territory isn't normally the shrewdest approach in sports' investing, especially for such an amount, but Green Bay at this point in the season is a team that is proving the pre-season prognosticators correct in being Super Bowl bound, or at least talented enough to get there. Yes they struggled vs Chicago in the final game of the season, that's a fact. However, when looking at the matchups and what transpired in their earlier season contest vs Chicago where they lost 20-17, in the end, this is Green Bay's game to lose, not Chicago's to win. Debatable? yes, of course. But Green Bay's QB Rodgers is much more prolific than his counterpart Cutler, and less error prone. Green Bay's pass rush was 2nd in sacks this year, Chicago's O line was first in giving up sacks. Green Bay's secondary vs a pedestrian group of receivers for Chicago is another edge. Green Bay's run game has improved with Starks getting the ball, opening up options for this offence considered one dimensional, yet managing to shred most teams frequently this year including last week's annihilation of the NFC #1 seed. The only areas of edge for the Bears are special teams, and home field and that's just not enough it says here. The rest of the edges are Green Bay's and these Packers, if not giving away the game, will control this contest start to finish. 5 units on Green Bay to head to the Super Bowl winning this by 3 pts or more.

take: Pittsburgh Steelers -3 -117 (buy half pt down)....3 units....vs New York Jets, game time is 6:30 p.m. e.s.t...The only thing that keeps this game from being as large a play as the earlier tilt is the turnover possibility being a large factor with both defences capable of game changing plays and subsequent effects. That point aside we like the home team here quite a bit and if the defence of Pittsburgh once again rears its head in a big way, the Steel Curtain chimes will once again be reminisced about and they will be heading to yet another Super Bowl. NY looks to be a team of destiny, but this team is playing its 3rd road game in a row, 5th in their last 6th and 6 of 8, that's a weary laden schedule without question. Add in the fact that this team wanted the New England Patriots badly last week and after the huge upset celebrated as though their mission was complete. Yes they can say they are focused, but a letdown is inevitable here, regardless of what's at stake, this team was keyed for last week and dialed in. The emotional dial down factor is in play going into Pittsburgh. Not to mention the Steelers revenge factor after losing at home to these Jets but without their key star in Troy Polamalu and with the Jets getting a gift of 7 early pts on a kick return toucdown on the opening kickoff. This is Big Ben at QB with his 2 superbowl rings already in his short career vs an average Mark Sanchez whose own coordinators design a playbook based on not having their QB exposed to do to much out of the ordinary and not to lose a game. The Jets Oline is a key component for them, but really the only edge in this game for the Jets, along with the turnover factor at even for both teams. In the end the rest are Pittsburgh's edges, and the home team is the way to go here and Pittsburgh gets it done by 3 pts or more. 3 units.

strong consideration:
Green Bay/Chicago Under 43.5

cheers, PROFIT

Early leads for both...really enjoyable to watch...then late stresses in both games....nothing never easy...it seems....in the end a helluva day.
