Steelers Rooneys pick up tab for the Harrison fine?

Dont you think that the owners pick up the tab on these fines?
I do. $75,000 and then go hit someone else harder next week. Lets play flag football?

Rooneys would not pay those fines for anything in the world. I do not agree with the stance the NFL is taking. Certain players will now be playing football with someone watching their every move. Either way Harrison needs to be fined. We have WAY better equipment then they had in the 70's. Something had to be done but you cant tell me that some players arent going to have a bulls eye on their backs.

The league currently is selling photos of the incident involving Harrison and Browns receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, at anywhere from $15.95 to $249.95.

Call his bluff on this one. If he retires, with his skill set, the only occupation he qualifies for is "mugger".

Every time there's a rule change for "player safety", pundits (particularly ex-jock types) start crying about how it's going to ruin the NFL. Been hearing this sad old song for 30 years. We've heard it after Darryl Stingley got hurt. We've heard it every few years since.

Yeah, the NFL is on the edge of ruination. Stop helmet-to-helmet hits and spearing, and the league'll fold in the next few years. We'll all be watching soccer instead.

Not to say the NFL isn't hypocritical about all this. They'll fine a player with one hand, and use video of it to promote their product with the other. Nothing like getting paid twice for the same thing. Ain't America great?

Gimme a break.

So what does the NFL do with the money ? They should give it to a charity for kids.

Harrison tried to lay up on the M. Mos hit,,,,,he said if he didnt he would have snapped him in half,,,,and he would have,,,,Silverback should just start taking out knees and ending careers..............

Harrison's agent, Bill Parise, confirmed his client's contemplation of retirement:

"That's exactly true,'' Parise said. "He met with the coach and left for today. He's in the process of contemplating is it possible to play football under these new rules . . . 'if I go to work and tackle somebody and get a fine.'"
Parise said there is "no fighting, no arguing," just discussions. He said Harrison has been talking with his coaches, the Steelers, his mother and the agent.
Harrison signed a six-year, $51.2 million contract in April 2009 that included a reported $20 million in bonuses. If Harrison would retire before the contract expires, the Steelers could demand he pay back some of those bonuses.

if it's intentional then suspend/fine the guy, otherwise let them play

i'd much rather see some other rules looked at: like maybe letting DBs play a little bit more so we have less PI calls.....also, since holding penalties are up like 35%, maybe that becomes a 5 yd foul instead of 10

wont ever mind seeing him get fined/suspended, because you will never know what was going through his head no matter how bad/good it looks

Thats being kind.. Have seen him in person in a small bar at camp in Latrobe Pa.. I can tell you he is even intense just standing there drinking beer.. scary guy... Society as a whole is blessed he made it in the NFL becuse IMO in a real life sceniro he may have hurt some people.. does not seem like the 9-5 sort of guy.. But hey neither am I.. But way less scary.. Did not see many venture over for a autograph though on the plus side for him..

Maybe they should use the money and put it towards getting a cable deal done so we can all easily have access to nfl packages
