Dallas has been inconsistent but appears to be more effective on both defense and offense; this week will be a real test. Philadelphia can also be rather difficult to predict but their pass rush is the difference here.

Philadelphia’s inexplicable loss at Oakland on Oct. 18 apparently served as a wakeup call. The Eagles take aim at their third straight division victory when they host a Dallas team that is sizzling as well. Philadelphia has held the upper hand against the Cowboys at home, winning eight of the past 10 meetings and cashing at a 6-3-1 clip. The Eagles re 9-3 in their last dozen duels at Lincoln Financial Field and they are 12-2 ATS off a division game. Dallas has won three straight since bowing at Denver. The ‘Boys are 6-15-1 ATS versus division denizens and 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 road ventures. They have dropped nine of 10 ATS off a ‘cover’ as double-digit favorites. Seven of the last eight series clashes have jumped the number.

The Cowboys have gotten their act together and are capable of pounding the ball on just about anybody, though the Philly defense is unusually good against the run. Where Dallas may find success is in the passing game. The Eagles' secondary is just not as good as it used to be when Brian Dawkins was patrolling the secondary.

Both teams are 5-2, so the winner gets to claim first place in the NFC East. The two teams split last year, but the Cowboys, and especially QB Tony Romo, have to avenge that Week 17, 44-6 pasting that denied them the playoffs last season. The Cowboys will be out for blood here and are likely to get some.
