Over the past 12 seasons, the team that won the Super Bowl has averaged 10.5 victories the following season, the team that lost it averaged 8.3. Only three of the past 12 Super Bowl winners failed to make the playoffs the next season. Seven Super Bowl losers failed to make the playoffs.
