Super Bowl Pick by Chris Schultz
Week 22 Picks (Super Bowl) by Chris Schultz:
-------------------------------------------- 6:25 PM Sunday, February 07, 2010 New Orleans Indianapolis (-5.0) Schultz Picks: New Orleans: ---------------------------------------------------------- In Super Bowl 44, we really do have an opportunity for a great game because it has the two best football teams with the two best quarterbacks in Drew Brees and Peyton Manning. That's why I think the game is going to be close. During the regular season, Kurt Warner, Matt Schaub and Tom Brady all threw for more than 300 yards on the Colts' defence. I believe Brees and his receivers can compete with Manning and his receivers, touchdown for touchdown. The Saints have a significantly better rushing attack. The trio of Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell finished sixth in rushing while Joseph Addai, Donald Brown and Mike Hart were 32nd. Yes, the Colts are at their best when times are toughest. As a team, they broke the record for 4th-quarter comebacks but that's the point, the Colts won seven games by four points or less. As for Dwight Freeney, just like when Troy Polamalu was injured for the Steelers, it devastates your defence when you lose your top impact player. Even if Freeney plays, how effective is a big unknown. In the end, it is a field goal game and the Super Bowl champions will be the Indianapolis Colts but the Saints will cover. *Through 266 games, Schultz is 144-116-6 against the spread; 5-5 in playoffs. |
