Wink Super Bowl XXLII Winners, Losers and Karma

This was probably the best Super Bowl I ever watched, or at the very least, the top 3. I figured I would follow my last week thumbs up, down with a Super Bowl XXLII edition of Winners, Losers and Karma

The Winners

Eli Manning - Obviously Manning completed one of the best comeback drives of all time and has placed himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the game. The scramble and pass to Tyree was unbelievable.

David Tyree - The 2007 version of the "immaculate reception" was absolutely a stunning catch.

The entire Giants defense - One of the best defensive performances ever put on in a Super Bowl. They made the best offensive team ever (statistically) look average at best.

Tom Coughlin - Everyone's favorite "lame duck coach" coached his ass off in this game and outcoached Belichick the great.

Terry Bradshaw - Anyone who can get away with tossing out the "F" bomb on the most watched show ever is the okay in my book.

Tom Brady - I am not sure there is one other quarterback in the NFL that could take the beating he took and still make plays. The drive with 3 minutes to go was impressive. Brady is also a class act.

Wes Welker - This guy is unbelievable, dependable, quick, tough and playing like a top receiver in football right now. He and Brady kept them in this game.

Tom Petty - The guy delivered a great halftime show. It's good to see the good oldies rock the house instead of that hip hop crap.

The Giants front office - No matter what happens from this point forward, they are officially winners in the Manning/Rivers deal.

72' Dolphins - It is what it is my friends!

The Losers

The Patriots offensive line - This group dominated all year but in this game they were completely and thoroughly dominated. Have you ever seen the Patriots committing false starts and costly holding penalties like yesterday?

Rodney Harrison & Ellis Hobbs - Where exactly was Rodney yesterday? And Hobbs looked like a high schooler on the last td catch

Randy Moss - For a guy that has been called the best wide receiver in the game, he was a no show this post season and probably should learn how to run a route. He looked scared every time he got up from another vicious hit.

Super Bowl Commercials - $2.7 million for that crap. Besides the Will Farrell commercial and maybe the talking baby E-trade commercial, I can't even remember a commercial. A big letdown.

Bill Belichick - His arrogance cost them a perfect season and history. Going for it on 4th and 13th instead of attempting a 48 yard field goal was one of the dumbest coaching decisions I have ever seen. He looked like a beaten man and immediately following the game, couldn't even give props to the Giants for an excellent game plan.

Karma

Karma caught up to the Pats this year. Breaks they usually get went the other way. The Bradshaw fumble, holding penalties, false starts, running up the score, Spygate and yes, even the tuck rule from years ago finally caught up to the Patriots. They had a great regular season but at the end of the day, Karma bit the Pats in the ass!

but you and me and a lot of others also predicted a blowout in this game. I was told by several people the AFC Championship was the Super Bowl, and the game yesterday was just a formality.

This is still the look on my face ------>

Pats couldnt handle the pass rush. 4 men got there everytime and when they brought 5 and 6, Brady got clocked. Funny thing is no Tiki and Shockey. That was the one silver lining except the fact the NFC won a superbowl being a 49er fan and all.

This actually gives me hope with Alex Smith at QB. Oh wait, the Giants have a good D-line....Nevermind.

I still say a healthy Charger team beats NE and NYG. They look like a good future bet for next season

rjb-- doesnt matter who won the game to me, sportscenter and ESPN just totally totally over do it with their coverage. I honestly will not watch Sportscenter the entire day today, probably take tomorrow off as well. I wasnt saying anything about having to hear about the Giants and not liking it, I just dont wanna hear about any of it anymore lol, the 5 hour pre game is more than enough for me.

yep...giants would have lost if that game was played in NE and they were much healthier than the chargers. futures at almost 10/1 is great value

I know isnt it disgusting. I cant bare to even look at it. That commercial where the Giants courier delivers the game ball to Mercury Morris and it says hang onto it for one more year??? Makes me sick. I dont want to take anything away from a perfect season but the Dolphins beat like 2 teams with a wining record and combined records were 70-108-4.

1 day of coverage (today) is more than enough imo. i dont need ron jaworski to break down film for me weeks after the game is over. its done, let it go, on to baseball
