T.O. Apologies and Respect

When Dallas got T.O. I was completely against it. There was no denying his abilities as a reciever but I was most concerned about his being a cancer to the teams he had played for. I was totally anti-T.O.

While there has been bad acting like the tears produced in support of Romo last season, has yet to be the big distractions and the me-factor that I was concerned with.

Then this past Sunday nights game for me sealed it all up and actually made me a real T.O. fan as an individual. No it wasn't some good deed done off the field. I wasn't a heartfealt act of kindness. All those things are great and even sometimes real and not pubblicity stunts. What convinced me that T.O. was for real and dedicated to his team was two particular plays.

#1.....On Jone's touchdown run T.O. races down field to get in the way of the only guy that might have had a chance to prevent the T.D. Whether the defender could have caught Jone's is ireelivant it was the effort put forth by T.O. that matters.

#2.....On the interception in the endzone thrown by Romo T.O. gets knocked down when he first goes to make a tackle, he gets up and 50 yards later is the guy who drags the defender down.

On a night when he is basically a decoy and shutdown and personal stats are miniscule in my eyes atleast T.O. became a star deserving of the Big Blue Star of Texas.

As a football coach I expect that kind of effort from my players. As a football fan I applaude that kind of effort and recognize that those types of things aren't done selfishly as I have accused him of being in the past. They are done out of a desire to win and an instinct to be a leader.

So now when I see an interviewer have to walk him through and guide him like Emmit Smith did after the Philly game. When he has his "Luv Me Some Me' moments I'll accept these a little lighter because I know when it really matters he is playing like the Star on the helment is larger than the Star in the helment.

Good post..

I think the majority of this board thought he was going to bring them down. Some are still waiting...

So the question for them is when is it gonna happen... before of after the superbowl ?

I was wrong about TO too, he has led the cowboys to many crucial and important victories since they started giving him millions
