Is there even any doubt that...

Adam Vinatieri tanks kicks for money???

Probably why NE let him go.

Garrett Hartley too obviously, but this guy is a definite imo

and no one will ever ever question him about it since he was so clutch in those Super Bowls

Hartley missed big time kicks in college. I don't think he is tanking, he just sux.

Adam V been making money kicks for years. Leg isn't what it was 5-10 years ago.

agree on hartley, but the possiblity was there. missed a gimme in the skins game and bucs game last year plus the gimme in the atl game this year. all had moneyline implications on the dog

agree that vinatieris leg is certainly not what it was 5 years ago, however the fundamentals and accuracy remain the same regardless of leg strength.

i remember he missed a gimme in the pro bowl a few years back that was a spread and over beater.

just my opinion is all...

plus common thread with hartley and vinatieri is that they both made money kicks in the super bowl, so all is forgiven or never brought up as the case may be...

I saw Hartley for his entire college career. The fact he made it to league has always surprised me. He made a clutch kick last year, but he is far from clutch. No surprise to see him struggle. It was a matter of time. I think Adam V is just aging and the muscle memory just isn't there. Given all of the money kicks he made over the years, I'd be very shocked if he I'd tanking. Stranger things happen though.

you could possibly sell me on college kickers tanking kicks for money but a pro athlete making the money he is would find it hard to believe. throw in fact those are the first two fg's he missed all season makes it even more ludicrous of a statement.

Hartley wasn't terrible in college

he made 49 out of 56 attempts at OU.

wasn't exclusive to this season...meant in general in the last few years. this game in particular since it was a primetime game and only one able to be gambled on. usually its 'major' games such as those.

2 misses obv enabled a cover/push by washington and didnt matter for the overall outcome of the game.

kickers don't exactly rake in the huge bucks by the way...granted he is one fo the higher paid at the position
