Tom Brady on the mend, Cassel ?

Tom Brady is as fit as he has been in years. He is unreal shape and ready for the season ahead. His words were when asked how he feels, " I've never felt better ". He looked fit and ready to go. He has been working out and will be ready for opening day. This will surely give the chance for the Patriots to shop Cassel in the very near future. They could make a trade and put themselves right back in the hunt. Food for next season.

Cassel will be franchise tagged and kept on the roster at least until the start of preseason. New England will keep him around until they are 100% sure Brady is healthy and then trade him if possible. The trade will more than likely come after the draft becasue NOBODY is going to give up 2 first round picks for Matt Cassel.

KC may you never know, franchise tag buys time and ups the bid. I can tell you that Brady is 95% right now. His work out was impressive and his side to side movements looked great. New England knows where Tom is health wise they are just keeping it a secret. Cassel is on the trading blocks watch to see who buys him. My guess is KC!!!!

KC would be out of their minds to trade the #3 overall pick this year plus more than likely a top-10 pick next year for Matt Cassel.

I could see KC getting him for a 2nd round pick on draft day or after the draft, but that #3 overall pick is worth WAYYYYYYYY more than Matt Cassel.

from everything I am reading Tom Brady is not 100% ready for opening day right now. so I dont know where this is all coming from, but they might actually NEED Cassel

Trust me, he is at least 90% ready, his work out looked good.

Brady actually did his first interview since the injury last night, on Toronto's Fan590 Bob McCown show....

I say go for Cassel whatever the cost. Drafting first round qb's is practically a crap shoot. Cassel is proven and he's played very rarely in organized football since hightschool, so however old he is you can actually subtract a few years. If we didn't have Brees i'd want the Saints to cough it up.

His ability to work his way into the Patriots system gives a person the right to say that the kid has it. He improved and could read down field as well as any QB in the NFL. Beings he was in this system he has shown that he wants to learn and can lead a team. I would say he is worth far more then any rookie coming out in the draft. The upside on this kid is huge and I think worth a shot for a team like KC.
