Tony Dungy = overrated

always had these thoughts but thanks to Cowherd for pointing it out to America this morning on ESPN radio...

Solid D coordinator head coach not so much

great guy and humanitarian though

Tampa won, with a team he assembled sure, AFTER he left.

Inherits arguably the best QB in the league and musters a .500 playoff record

take away the SB year and an abysmal playoff record including many one and outs

Of those one and outs many were at home and after a bye

Colts can do better and he knows it

Disagree, he is underrated if anything. Teams always have a shot to win it all. He coaches a team that can't have balance because Manning eats the salary cap.

Respected by all players and coaches.

Hard to see overrated. JMO

Caught his spiel about Dungy and have to agree to a certain point. Coaches are important without a doubt but I think some responsibility for these debacles also has to go towards GM Bill Polian. The same GM of my Bills when they went and lost 4 Super Bowls in a row. Colts have had a solid offense but I think you still have to question player personnel decisions when it comes to their defense throughout these years. This has been an ongoing problem for the Colts for years.

I get the point but first round games in NFL aren't like NBA. Sometimes you get bad matchups. Normally they win the division with year they had & avoid tough 1st rd road game. What could Dungy do differeent in this game?

this game he had one of worst teams...it was an accomplishment to get to 12-4

I think this is more about the culmination...as you point out normally they win division earn the bye only to lose

new time for Colts

Nothing really, he's a defensive coach and his defense played well for the most part. This was a matter of Ron Rivera and Stephen Cooper, outscheming Manning and Tom Moore

agree on Dungy being overrated, but would like to throw Manning in the same category. Poster boy for the nfl, so its heresy to talk about it, but it couldn't be more obvious that he's a system player. If he doesn't have everything going his way i.e. 10 secs in pocket to throw, dynamite running back and wide outs, he's very spotty.

LMFAO, are you phucking kidding me, LMAO You believe that Manning is a system player. LMFAO He is THE BEST QB IN THE NFL hands down. Learn the game before you come on a internet site and make an ass out of yourself. Not one team in the NFL would not want Peyton as their QB. Do your homework

10 points (without play where cromatie was asleep) against the worst passing def in the league coupled with playoff choke after playoff choke. The year he won the SB, he beat the mighty chiefs and ravens (b/c of defense), played like shit against the Pats, and beat the mighty bears.

And like I mentioned above, any pressure in the pocket leads to happy feet and throwing the ball away.

Feel free to keep drinking the kool aid an deriving at your oppinions via stuart scott and mark schlereth.

lol who do you think got the team to the line, snapped the ball and threw the pass with them asleep?

part of being a successful QB is having the intangible to see things like that before they happen. manning is not overrated, not sure why im even responding lol
