Not so much something he said...

When we got him as coach of the Saints. (pre-Ricky Williams) We sucked back then. I looked around the dome when we were getting beat by someone, and thought "our coach is the most famous person here." Not the situation you want to be in. I don't think we had any players with national recognition. Those clowns went 6-10 that year.

His next year in New Orleans (also a 6-10 year) he was playing craps in Harrah's down on Canal St., was apparently losing big, and got into an argument with the pit boss. Ditka threw his cigar at the guy, and got banned for life.
