Week 17 survivor pool. Need assistance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, as i posted last week, i was gonna choose from tampa, dallas or jacksonville. I ended up choosing tampa bay. with jacksonville dallas and phili llosing, (best week ever) from 1233 entrants with 49 remaining, only 8 have survived till week 17.

I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO OR WHO TO PICK.

prize pool is 246,600.

8 people left and we are not allowed to split.

(ALSO HAVE DALLAS)

WHO DO I PICK AND WHAT TO DO.

At first i figured i take STL and i hedge with Seattle +120 depending on what happens in the earlier games. I had jets set from the beginning but the line came out at -1 and i am not so happy. Jacksonville opened up at -2.5 but tuesday morning they announced gerrard will be having surgery on his thumb, and i think jones drew is not playing. Houston final home game, they are my favourite pick. Also if webb or farve plays (farve maybe last game) or webb(continues what he did to phili) they can easily beat a 3 point favourite detroit. please, i do need assitance as i am confused and need to submit before 11:59pm thursday night.

if you are not allowed to split what is tiebreaker? What did you pay to get in? what do you get for 1st? or do remaing players split/

I would probably pick the biggest favorite and hedge it with a bet on the underdog monelyine they are playing.

ex. assuming you paid 1,000 to get in and the payout will be 30,000 FOR SURE if all 8 win, i would pick the biggest favorite , not sure cause not all spreads are out, ex you pick detroit for your pool , then you bet money on Minnesota MONEYLINE +165 for about 10,000 to win 16,500. If you win pool you win 30,000 minus 10,000 for bet and minus 1,000 entry so +19,000. If you win bet you win 16,500 minus 1,000 for entry so +15,500. I would also hedge with a late game like you said to see what happened earlier. what do you think?

thats exactly what i was thinking, i told you it was 1233 entrants, 246600 prize pool. 230 a person, 30 going to the house. i feel really comfortable with the houston game, but no line out and i am scared i cant hedge with a -1 or -2, it opened up at -2 jax line was takin off after garrard was announced not playing, i have a feeling everyone will be on SF and or STL, cuz they think STL last game and they would like to hedge, well i cant take SF i used them in week 10, and i do not want to have what other people have trying to win the pool here. but is houston the play when jax needs the win?

in the end you have to go with what your gut tells you. If everyone is playing late game i would hedge by picking biggest favorite and betting ML on the underdog regardless of what time they play. But at the same time you want to also try and pick a favorite that less people are going to pick and hedge it with the under dog incase they lose and you would get more of the pot. be nice if you knew what everyone else was picking

Take Dallas. No way Philly risks any other possible injury to Vick. It does not matter whether the Eagles wins this game or not. Dallas has pently of reason to win this game, especially their interim H.C.

Rules
1. ENTRY FEES
Entry fee is 230 and must be paid by august 30, 2010. “Absolutely no exceptions”. Tickets that do not have a fee associated with them will not be made active and will be removed from play.
2. PRIZE
It’s a winner take all pool. Prize amount is calculated as follows: 200 x (# of tickets). All information will on our website Pool-Guys New Website !.
3. CONTINUED PLAY
This is an elimination pool. The object of the game is to correctly pick a winning team each week without any handicap or point spread involved. All 32 teams are available to all tickets at the beginning of the season. When a team is selected (the "pick"), that team is no longer available to the ticket in any other week. If your “pick” loses or ties, that ticket is deactivated and eliminated from the pool....your ticket did not survive! In the event of a game not being played due to any circumstance, the ticket having picked one of the teams in that game, will be given the next available favorite as per our auto pick (#5) rule listed below. If there is more than one game cancelled, every ticket will be given a bye for that week.
4. TEAM SELECTION DEADLINE (NEW)
The deadline for entering your selection is no later than 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time the THURSDAY prior to that play period (week). Tickets that want to select a team that is playing on a THURSDAY, MUST make their selection by 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time the WEDNESDAY prior to the game. Any errors or failures to submit a pick on time will be subject to the auto pick rule (#5). The WEBSITE’s time is considered authoritative.
5. AUTO PICK aka DEFAULT PICK
If a player fails to enter their selection correctly by the respective deadline, the ticket in question will be automatically assigned a default pick for that week. The default pick will be an eligible (see rule 3) selection for this ticket, selected as the team with the highest point spread for that week. In the event that multiple teams available to the ticket share the same point spread, the team whose “moniker” is first in alphabetical ascending order (‘a’ to ‘z’, regardless of case), shall be selected. (i.e. GIANTS before JETS, or BENGALS before BRONCOS). Teams that have played prior to the final cut-off for the respective play period are not eligible to be used as an Autopick.
6. POINT SPREADS
Point spreads will be available on the WEBSITE no later than 12 pm ET (noon) the Wednesday prior to that play period (week). Once posted on the WEBSITE, point spreads are NOT changeable and will be FINAL. Point spreads will be those found in local reputable publications if available. If local publications do not publish points spreads, the Administrators may choose whatever alternative public source that they deem fit.
7. PICK SELECTION AVAILABILITY
Your last selection recorded for your ticket before the respective deadline will be the ticket’s final selection. All selections will be recorded and will be made available via our website Pool-Guys New Website ! shortly after the respective deadline.
8. POOL COMPLETION and EARLY POOL TERMINATION
The pool’s natural completion occurs with the end of regular season play. “Active” tickets at the end of the regular season will be deemed as winners and will receive their portion of the prize. Owners of “active” tickets have the option to EMAIL a request for “early pool termination” and split the pool prize. The decision to split the pool prize MUST be unanimous amongst remaining owners.
9. WINNER DETERMINATION
Winners are determined as being those “Active” tickets at the time of pool completion/early termination. Tickets “Active” at that time will divide the prize equally.
10. UBIQUITOUS LOSS
In the event that ALL remaining (“active”) tickets are eliminated on the same week, those ticket owners will have the option to continue play until pool completion/termination. Owners who do not want to continue will receive their appropriate portion of the prize. The new pool prize will be adjusted to account for these payouts.

only prob i can see with ml is a tie. tie you lose the pick and you push the bet. if you take points you have to win something and you have the possibiliy of winning pick and bet. e.g. min+3 +105. if you pick det and bet min you win both if det wins by 2 or 1. if det wins by 3 pick wins bet pushes. if min wins or ties, bet wins pick loses
