Week 2 and I like it

Not going to let the first week get me to down as 3 of my losses came in the last 2 minutes of the game. Things will even out over the long run.

Oakland @ KC -3 (2)

Kudo's to both teams for entertaining us in the first week of the season. KC did it without Cassel as Croyle played a very good game in his place. Their not saying if Cassel is playing or not but it doesn't matter as I still like KC regardless in this one. They were right in there at Baltimore and their offense suprised me more than anything. Oakland running game looked awful good Monday. Oh, speaking of Monday Oakland on the short week and traveling for that 12:00 starting time. Last year when WC traveled to EC early starting time the EC covered in 13 out of 20 games. Could be off a game either way pending on your line of play. I just think Oakland will be a little more tired and physically worn down after getting the juice taking out of them at home on the Monday night football game.

Patriots -5 @ Jets (2)

You just can't deny a team that is 66-42 ats in their last 108 road games since 1992. % are on your side. A rookie qb is on the other side. NY are 7-20 ats in their last 27 home games in September the last 3 years. Pats are 6-0 ats in road games versus division opponents the last 3 years. I was against the Pats in the opener with success. This week I'm riding them to get it done in NY. Jets did play well last week on the road. Probably be more pressure on the young QB at the home opener.

Indy -3 @ Miami (2)

Miami is 3-13 ats last 16 home games the last 3 years. Colt's snuck by last week with a 14-12 W at home against a team that always plays them tough in Jacksonville. What the score will not show in this one is how the Colt's slowly but methodically moved the ball up and down the field. A couple of key turn overs with a missed fg kept Jacksonville within striking distance the whole game. The Colt's D actually should get the credit in this one. I'm not sure how good the Dolphins will be this year as it might be tough to improve on that 11-5 record from last year. I did notice they were only 2-6 ats at home last year. Once again going with the veteran qb who has proven for a lot of years why the Colt's are always a tough out anywhere they play.

Seattle @ 49ers -1 1/2 (2)

Going to ride the 49ers and their momentum in this home opener. I like the coach and even more important I'm impressed with the running game. Gore is just a bigtime rb who runs for yards after contact almost consistently everytime he touches the ball. Seattle very impresssive in their shut out home against the Rams. This one should be a bruiser and how big would it be if the 49ers started out 2-0. Going more on a gut than anything in this game as there might be gold rush to Frisco this year!

Underdog game of the day

Carolina +6 @ Atlanta (2)

Maybe it's a good thing I didn't see them play last Sunday. From everything I hear and read it was pathetic. In the NFL you have to be forgiving week to week or we'd run out of teams to bet on. They say he's washed up but I think he can still get the job done at QB. I can't possibly picture that many turnovers again by the veteran.. I wonder how many were tipped or could have been caught? Like I said I didn't see any on this one. My play is based off Atlanta's success from last year and off to another good start last week(I took them) against Miami. Carolina has been an amazing 74-49 ats dating all the way back to 1991. Carolina was a 12-4 team last year and they look awful and Atlanta looks good and now we have a +6 points with a team that used to be very good. Maybe their not anymore but I'm taking a shot that they keep this one close throughout. Atlanta is a very good team with a very good QB in Ryan.

That's it for now. Comments and info always welcome my friends

Arizona @ Jacksonville -3 (2)

A very long way for Zona to travel and play at the early time. I'd like to think there's no way Jacksonville loses 2 in a row, and especially losing at home to the Cards. I can't find my notes but I'm pretty sure the Cardinals got waxed and lost ats on at least 3 of their games in this situation. Just trying to find and edge in my opionion one of the toughest sports to win in.

Leans:

Denver
GB
Houston if it hits 7 or more

Oakland going to KC is not an east coast game, central time zone. not sure if that falls into the 13/20 stat you state. staying away myself but good luck on all of your plays and a money making year.

Love the Jacksonville game. Definately if your getting it at 3. Does everyone forget how bad Arizona is when traveling to the east? Also, Warner looked absolutely terrible last week. Get pressure and they are done. Boldin's heart is not it in, he is not ok with this playcalling and his contract. Look for Jax to roll and Zona be looking for answers after Week 2

With you on Carolina, Indy and KC. Not sold on Arizona, NE or SF at all. Think the Jets upset the Brady Bunch by 6+ pts and Seattle runs rings around the Niners. Jax unleashes the Genuine Draft - MJD - on 'Zona and wins by 2 scores.

My bad on that. I just can't find where I got that at.

I do have this though: A story and also coaching records of teams past history on ec games. Here it is if it works:

NFL Betting Trends: Pacific Teams on the East Coast
The "Early Game Alert" is a trend that has puzzled bettors for years. What to do about Pacific teams that are playing an early game on the East Coast?

What's the big deal? Since players and coaches have to wake up three to four hours before kickoff, the teams that are studied in this trend have to wake up around 6 a.m. PST. And I think it's safe to say that most NFL players don't go to sleep before midnight. Just a hunch.

Here is how different coaches have handled this trend. As you can imagine, some coaches prepare their teams well for an early kickoff. Others... well, see for yourself.

Team Coach Record since 2003 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008
ARZ Ken Whisenhunt 3-4 X X X X 3-1 0-3
ARZ Dennis Green 2-3 X 2-2 0-0 0-1 X X
ARZ Dave McGinnis 0-2 0-2 X X X X X
OAK Tom Cable 2-1 X X X X X 2-1
OAK Lane Kiffin 3-1 X X X X 2-1 1-0
OAK Art Shell 0-3 X X X 0-3 X X
OAK Bill Callahan 0-2 0-2 X X X X X
SD Norv Turner 5-5 X 2-1 2-1 X 0-1 1-2
SD Marty Schottenheimer 8-3 1-0 3-0 3-1 1-2 X X
SEA Mike Holmgren 3-12 0-3 0-2 0-2 1-0 1-3 1-2
SF Mike Singletary 2-0 X X X X X 2-0
SF Mike Nolan 1-8 X X 1-2 0-0 0-5 0-1
SF Dennis Erickson 1-3 0-1 1-2 X X X X

West Coast teams tend to lose on East Coast

Story tools:

Recent history suggests the Buffalo Bills should beat the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in Ralph Wilson Stadium.

West Coast teams have a hard time winning games in the Eastern time zone. This season they haven’t won any, going 0-16.

The Bills don’t put much stock in this ongoing trend even if the facts suggest they should. When asked about it this week, head coach Dick Jauron said it was merely a coincidence.

“I don’t really believe in that either,” said Bills defensive tackle Marcus Stroud. “You just have to go out and play.”

Stroud pointed out it’s just as tough for Eastern teams traveling west, but the difference is the time change is more difficult for West Coast teams. That’s especially the case in games that start at 1 p. m. Eastern time, which is three hours ahead.

The bigger reason for this year’s winless streak is a lack of good teams out West. In the AFC and NFC West, the teams are a combined 14-30. Both divisions have one team (6-5 Denver in AFC West and 7-5 Arizona in NFC West) with a winning record.

“I can’t speak for other teams,” said coach Mike Singletary, whose 49ers bring a 3-8 record into Ralph Wilson Stadium, “but hopefully we do a little bit better.”

The weather could make things even tougher for the 49ers. The early forecast calls for snow showers and a high of only 35 degrees.

No

WC teams would be:

Chargers, Raiders, Frisco, Seattle,

Some figure in Zona, Denver, when using this formula

EC teams: or teams on that time zone right now are:

Atl, Balt, Buff, Carolina, Cincy, Cleve, Jackson, Miami, Pats, both NY teams, Philly, Pitt, TB, Wash,

gets confusing<

true EC teams would be: Baltimore, Buffalo, Carolina, Jacksonville, Miami, N England, Giants, Jets ,Tampa Bay Wash

If anyone has this down better please don't hesitate to explain.
