I always preach to pay attention to opening numbers.

If you want to win like as sharp you have to think like a sharp
I always say.

Remember sharps aka professional bettors bet early
in the week into opening numbers to get themselves
the best value possible.

Remember squares aka the general betting public usually wait
to place their bets until gameday before kick off.

So any early moves you see during the beginning
of the week is sharp money.

It’s important to realize that every early sharp move isn’t them
holding on to that position.

Sometime it’s head fake money
which is sharps moving a line in order to get a more
favorable number on game day betting the other side.



San Diego @ NY Jets (+2, O/U 43.5)
My Vegas oddsmaker contact opened up a test line on Monday
with the Jets-2.

That line didn’t stick around for more than a few hours
as sharps quickly bet San Diego.

The Chargers are 1.5 point favorites at press time and the total
has been bet down with under support from 45 to 44.

Here in New York sharps haven’t taken a position on a side
as we’ve seen the Chargers-1 all week.

The total was the popular sharp move as it was down
from they key # of 45 to 43.5

Seattle @ Cleveland (-3, O/U 41.5)
Nothing to report here on the side out on the west coast but my Vegas source did tell me he
saw a little sharp support on the over as it was bet from the opener of 40 up to 41.

Here in New York according to my local bookie source all is quiet and he
hasn’t moved the side or total off of 3 or 41.

Atlanta @ Detroit (-3.5, O/U 47.5)


My Las Vegas source told me at his shop he took a little dog support at the opener of 4
and was bet down to 3.5 and the total was bet down from the opener of 48.5 to 47.5
with under support from sharps.

Here in New York according to my local source this opened at 4.5 and we saw clear sharp move
on the dog moving this down to 3.5. Same story on the Under on the east coast
as sharps have bet the opener of 49 down through the key # of 48 to 47.5
where it currently sits at press time.

Washington @ Carolina (-2.5, O/U 43)


My Vegas oddsmaker contact opened this at Washington+3 with adjusted -115 vig.
Sharps took the dog at the key number of 3 with the high vig and he has adjusted his # down to 2.5.
Total has been bet down half a tick from 44 to 43.5. Here in New York the same exact story with
the side as the Dog has been bet from 3 down to 2.5 early in the week.

The total opened at 43 and hit as high as 45 before settling back down at 43 by press time.

Chicago @ Tampa Bay (+1, O/U 43.5)


My Vegas oddsmaker source opened this at Tampa Bay-1 and took initial sharp money on the dog
moving Chicago to -1. The total has stayed quiet at 44 at his shop.

Here in NY this opened at underground bookie shops with Tampa Bay as the favorite and sharp $
moved this to Chicago-1.

Total opened up at 42 and with sharp support for the Over it has climbed up to 44.

Denver @ Miami (-2.5, O/U 42.5)


My Vegas oddsmaker source opened Miami up as a 3 point favorite and told me he took
clear sharp support on Denver here betting this down to 1.5 already.

The total was bet up half of tick from 42.5 to 43.

Here in New York my local bookie source told me he opened this at 2.5 because
he didn’t want to get hammered with sharp money at 3 on Denver.

He’s seen no movement on the side or total which is quiet at 43 early in the week.

Houston @ Tennessee (-3.5, O/U 44.5)


My Las Vegas Bookmaker told me he’s stayed quiet all week and has nothing to report
side or total from sharps early. Here in New York it’s been at 3.5 all week with no sharp movement.
The total has been bet up half a tick from 44 to 44.5

Pittsburgh @ Arizona (+3.5, O/U 42.5)


My Vegas oddsmaker source told me all is quiet on the side but the total was bet up half a point
from the 42.5 opener to 43.

Here in New York this line opened up at 4 with adjusted -125 vig on the home dog
and they saw some support.

My local source adjusted to 3.5 and the love stopped on the home dog.
The total opened at 43 hit as low as the key # of 42 before settling at 42.5 come press time.

Kansas City @ Oakland (-4.5, O/U 41.5)


My Vegas oddsmaker source said the west coast sharps actually showed support
for the Carson Palmer move as they bet the Raiders up from -3 to -4.

Or he said it could be strictly anti-Kansas City move.

Here in New York this opened at 3.5 and has been bet up to -4.5 by sharps with Raiders support.

The total has seen under support here on the east coast as we’ve been down to 41.5 from an opener of 43.

Green Bay @ Minnesota (+9, O/U 46.5)


My Vegas oddsmaker source told me opened this at 9 and was bet down to 8 initially with love
for the divisional home dog.

When sharps got word Ponder was starting the love stopped and he saw Green Bay support.

The number was bet back up to 9.

The total was bet down to 47 to 46 with Under support.

Here in New York the side has been at 9 all week but sharps did show support
for the Under betting this down to 46.5 from the opener of 47.5.

St. Louis @ Dallas (-12, O/U 44)


My Vegas contact told me he opened this at 11 and felt books opening this at 9.5 and 10
on the strip were putting out bad #’s.

He saw Dallas support all the way up to 13 where he saw some buy back on the Rams
and has settled at 12 at press time.

Here in New York this opened at 10.5 with early support on Dallas up to 13.
At 13 we saw sharps buy back on the dog and the number settled at 12.

The total has been bet down a tick from 44.5 to 44.

Indianapolis @ New Orleans (-14, O/U 48)


My Vegas contact told me he has nothing to report on this game as everything is quiet
at the key #’s of 14 and 48.

Here in New York according to my local bookie source the side is quiet
and the total was bet up a half of tick from 47.5 to 48.

Baltimore @ Jacksonville (+9, O/U 39)
My Vegas oddsmaker source opened this

at 8.5 and saw support on Jacksonville early moving down to 7.5.

It has since been bet back up to 8 at press time.

The total was bet up half of a notch from 38.5 to 39.
Here in New York this opened at 9 with adjusted -120 vig to
bet Jacksonville.

My local source told me he moved to 8.5 for a little while
before moving back up to 9 with adjusted -130 vig to bet the dog again.

The total has fluctuated between 39. and 38.5 all week.
