Question What are the keys to Chargers at Steelers game?

Please leave out Chargers sucks, Rivers blows or San Diego is the bomb and save that for another thread!

Let's look at what's important for San Diego to have a shot to win.

What has to happen for the Steelers to win big?

I think LT has to play a little bit more. Sproles fun to watch and very good but they need the 1-2 punch.

The defense has to get to Rothliesberger and Rivers has to throw it away like he did so well against Indy when nothing was there.

What about Pittsburgh?

What do you think?

chargers just gotta get off the field on 3rd down. first matchup they did very well stopping them early downs but they kept converting and dominated the time of possession. chargers offense played decently in that game but they ran about 25 fewer plays than pitt. gotta even that up

As a Steelers Fan I love that ESPN was pointing out all day that the Steelers are 13-0 against SD @ Home during the regular season, And 0-2 in the playoffs. I love the jinx factor here to start off with...

San Diego just needs over 5 sacks + INT's and they win.

For SD to win they must pick their spots carefully when to run the ball. What scares me the most is play-action to LT or Gates.
Pitt must keep Gates closed up and watch LT when he comes out for screen plays.

if the steelers can make the chargers one dimensional, chargers are in trouble.

LT and Sproles need to compliment eachother well and keep pittsburgh honest. if you can run on the steelers, you can beat them, otherwise forget it.

The play of Big Ben.. If he plays good they win period.. Pitt defense does not need much help.. If Ben does not turn it over and he is on.. its over.. But if he turns it over he will keep the Bolts in the game.. Should be a great game..

chargers didnt run much in the first matchup and were in it. gotta play better defense. the way they played against the colts will be good enough to win in pitt...with the exception of the falling asleep play. the offense however needs to play better

Sproles is the type of back that typically has given Pitt the most trouble.. The big heavy running back ie.. Jacobs.. dont give them problems..Its the waterbugs.. Cannot hit what you cannot catch..

steelers defense much more dangerous than indy's though.

if their offense becomes one dimensional against pittsburgh i think they'll be in serious trouble.

but with LT and a change of pace guy like sproles i think they can manage close to 100 yards rushing which would keep them not only in the game but most likely in position to win.

Sd needs to put pressure on ben. he tends to make poor decisions when he gets pressured.

games where he was sacked at least 5 times

vs. PHI
1 INT 4 Fumbles

vs. NYG
4 INT 1 fumble

vs. Dal
0 INT 1 fumble

vs. TEN
2 INT 4 fumbles

on offense, they have to stick to the run.. they've run for at least 100yds/game during their winning streak
