Exclamation Whats everyone's thoughts on this?

NFL along with NBA my two favourite to watch. Most of the NFL season (with some exceptions) the games are on two days a week. 1) What are peoples thoughts on spreading it more out over the week? and 2) Do you think it will happen?

No. The NFL sked is perfect the way it is. Saturday is for NCAAF. That's enough. I mean c'mon, the divorce rate will skyrocket.

Only thing I don't agree with is 4 (and 5 for 2 teams in the HOFG) pre-season games--they should reduce that to 2 games and play 18 regular season games, just like in the CFL.

they are doing fine as is. main reason is they get a concentrated viewing audience. if they spread it out too thin, it will become a little water down.
nice call on dallas last nite.

Yeah the night games US time are the best for alot of the global audiences. I know there has been a press recently to try and globalise the NFL further, even if it were just one more night a week that would be huge.

Actually this is only partly true. Downunder and some of Asia yes. But not so much Europe, as the day games are better viewing times for most Europeans.

Yup, the thing is all their games are mostly on Sunday which collides with a bunch of Soccer games. In China soccer is far more popular than the NFL so unless they change up some of the dates, I doubt the NFL will get anywhere close to where the NBA is here in China.

Its just so many games at a similar time on a Sunday. I have 5 screens can watch the games on If I so wish, but still miss action with so many games. I'm sure many others have a similar issue, which in turn effects viewership/revenue, which a more spaced out schedule would help.

the problem with football everyday would be rest for players

play on saturday one week, and tuesday the next is not going to work.

playing on monday night, then sunday day the following week is a short rest already, can't go any more than that

American sport has surged in NZ and Aussie the last 10 years, the change is quite significant. Due to a number of reasons.

In terms of the pros in popularity right now would rank them like this :

1) NBA
2) NFL
3) MLB
4) NHL (Very limited coverage from pay TV, the interest would be much greater if not for that)
