It's based on public perception, Vegas knows Bears still not respected. Gotta make it what it is.

I just looked at the Bears schedule again to kind of understand why things are what they are. Their best win all season was the Philly game and possibly the Jets game and in both of those contests their defense was smacked around.
Personally I think the Bears are a very solid team on both sides of the ball but facts are facts......they didnt get to where they are based on the teams they have beaten. And how lucky are they that the Falcons got the 6 seed Packers and Bears faced the 4 seed Seahawks. Packers probably are a better team on both sides of the ball but doesnt Rodgers always struggle vs the Bears?

Let people hate on them the Packers are the hot team right now the public loves them. Im glad Vegas put them as underdogs. I hope the packers get pounded by the public and touts I got a feeling the line will stay right around 3 or 3.5 and I think the Bears are in good shape!

This is the easiest of the two games this weekend. Line tells you all you need to know IMO take GreenBay and the over and you should be 2-0 around 6PM Sunday night.

The Packers prolly have more overall talent, yes....But all we have to do is win on Sunday...
And I have to dispute that their D got smacked around in that Philly game.....The Bears had an 18 point lead heading into the 4th and started playing soft coverage....Really they ate that offense up...No argument about the Jets game... Quote:

This kind of talk, and Rodgers is a great QB and better than Cutler, will be what the Bears hear all week. Couple that with being underdog at home equals a team that will feel disrespected and be highly motivated but are they capable ?
In week 17, playing at home and needing a win or a NY Giant loss to get into the Playoffs, it took a 4th quarter TD for the Pack to get the job done vs a Bears team already in the playoffs. Bears stop the Packers roll and advance to the Super Bowl. |

Bears beat a VERY bad team...
The Bears are a good team, but the schedule they played and the fact that many people believe that GB as always been the best team in the NFC - just hit some speed bumps with RB injuries... Aaron Rodgers is VERY good - could be argued he's the best in the NFL right now. Also, Cutler... his perception is still that of a wild card. Big Question here is will he perform? The Bears D is awesome - love the way they play... it's just people wonder how can they be stopped... THis is kind of the same thing with NE being favored by 9 yesterday... the perception was that the O couldn't be stopped... we all know what happened yesterday so take comfort in that... and FINALLY respect is not given. It's earned. Bears won't earn respect unless they win the Super Bowl... just the way it is...

poor new orleans then, they actually lost to seattle
my answer to the question, in all honesty, is who cares? no one has mentioned the bears all season long, people are just waiting for them to shoot themselves in the foot. that's fine by me. i've been saying to people all year that IMO, they seem like they are a year ahead of schedule so i've been taking all of this with a grain of salt. at the end of the day though, if you're a fan of the bears, public perception and trent dilfer's opinions really shouldn't matter to you. they are in the nfc championship when most of these "experts" had them winning 6-8 games this year. i'm sure most will pop their heads in when/if they lose, be it GB or in the super bowl, to let everyone know what a fraud the bears were, but the bottom line is they are STILL in the nfc championship, and unlike teams of a lot of posters in here, still playing for something. they aren't playing to gain respect from cappersmall posters, newspaper writers, trent dilfer, steve young or anyone else really, they're playing for themselves which is how it should be. who cares if they get no respect? the one irrefutable fact in all this is that they exceeded everyone's expectations. i don't care who they beat in the playoffs, no one even expected them to MAKE the playoffs (myself included). that is all
