Who do you blame, owners/players?

I normally side with owners, because players typically are the greedy ones, holding out on contracts, etc.

In this case, the owners are wrong in my opinion. They want $800mil more than the current agreement??? NFL is at an alltime high and they are complaining that they are not making the profits they need?? BS!!! This is not like they have received a new revenue stream and how do they split it. This is an existing revenue stream that they want to renegotiate and take $800m a year away from the players into their pockets.

These grredy bastards all want their new stadiums, etc. Pure greed by NFL owners. The players would be OK with the existing CBA, owners want to change it and get more in their pockets. Do you really feel NFL owners are struggling with the TV contracts they get? I certainly dont.

Owners...they were shady with tv deal, they want more money but arent willing to show the financials or the reasoning why they need more money. They dont take care of the players in retirement enough and they arent the ones risking their lives for the game. 100% the owners

In addition to wanting more money from the players they want them to play 2 more games. It is a joke!

Personally I would love 2 more games, but I understand where the players are coming from on the issue.

I blame both.

The players dont deserve a bigger piece of the pie, they get paid enough as is. The owners hold all the risk. They finance and promote which enables the stage for these players to make as much money as they do.

With that being said, the players do deserve adequate retirement benefits as far as the medical aspect is concerned. The players should have to put some skin in the game too though.

The players arent asking for more...they're asking for what they currently get. The owners want them to take a paycut and play more games lol...they even came off there position and got down to 50% split. The owners are not taking hardly any risk at all. The profits are growing every year and the game is the most popular it has ever been...the only risk is not making as much as they think they could

I dont think the players are asking for more of the pie. The owners want to renegotiate the current piece of the pie. Players want status quo, not more. Owners want players to now give up $800mil per season from the current deal as I know it.

Do need a rookie cap limit, which I think noth agree on.

well they are asking the owners to take less upfront before they split. I think the owners should be allowed to renegotiate that aspect.

I believe the owners want to take more off the top before the 50% split and the players disagree

Why do the players deserve to see the books?

They are employees who get paid a salary. I know its not that plain and simple but thats the concept when you dumb it down.

Because they are negotiating taking a paycut they deserve to see justification for it. You're not going to accept it just because someone tells you that you should. That's why they are a union, so they have that power. They are employees, but without them there is no business. This isnt a typical company where you can find replacements off the street...they have a ton of leverage

TEAM profit sharing

if you play for the cowboys ad they make x amt profit
each roster
starter gets x amt of profit

if you play for the Bills , so be it
but players deserve to see how much each
team makes

for ex : How much does ower of Cowbows pay " Himself"
as salary
vs Chargers owner?

is this an expense?
or part of "profit ?

exactly...and this is precisely why the owners dont want to release that info. but if you dont want to release that you need to be prepared to make concessions
