I'm a rock fan and certainly respect The Who, but it is a weak choice. Daltrey's voice has sucked for years now, and I don't think they'll excite anyone.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

I love the Who music quite a bit...but shouldn't they promote American artists in an American game?

(I'm stuck. I'm not voting here).

They'll dub his voice and make it sound a lot better. I don't think the NFL will allow a bad half time show to happen.

Its a case of the Janet Jackson deal..NFL will never go with any risk again and they know these old guys (Boss, Tom Petty, Who) wont pull funny ish.

Who is a great band, but really, how relevant are they today? Most of their true fans 50-70, not exactly the NFL Bud Light Target market. And I agree about the voice, its been gone just like Rogers hearing

This is an awful choice. No knock on their body of work, but I can't see this being very good. I'm sure Townsend has kept up his chops, but Roger's sounding pretty weak. Sure, he doesn't sound bad for a man in his 60s. That doesn't make it necessary or relevant though, does it?
If the NFL wanted to go econo whilst blowing the world's minds, they could put the Flaming Lips up there. Their live shows are amazing even to non-fans of their music and they have several anthemic songs that would be perfect for a venue like this. It'll never happen though. A more logical choice would be a band like Pearl Jam: mainstream enough, most people have heard at least a couple of their tunes, and it hits that mid-20s to mid-30s dude market. I'm not a big fan, but I'm sure it would be a hit.
They could always bring back Up With People. Check out this list.

This is not the Who. 2 of the 4 original are gone. Bad Choice.

Bon Jovi will get the halftime show within the next few years. Livin on a Prayer live is awesome.
