Who will be the first coach fired in the 2011 regular season?

Todd Haley of the Kansas City Chiefs will be the first head coach fired according to the oddsmakers at Bodog. Haley is listed as a 3/2 favorite. The Chiefs have been just destroyed in the first two games going 0-2 ATS and surrendering 40+ points in both games. However the Chiefs invested a lot in Haley and he led the Chiefs to a division title last year. Don't see this happening.

Next are Tony Sparano of the Miami Dolphins and Jack Del Rio of the Jacksonville Jaguars at 3/1 Bodog odds. Miami flirted with getting rid of Sparano but Dolphins owner, Ross, doesn't look like the type of owner who would make a midseason move. Of course, Cowher, Fisher or Gruden could change that. Del Rio is always on the hot seat at least from a fans perspective.

The field is listed at 5/1 with Tom Coughlin at 7/1. The Giants have just been decimated with injuries. Again hard to imagine an in-season move.

At 15/2, it's hard to imagine the Bengals firing Marvin Lewis. If he escaped the offseason - there is nothing he could do to get fired during the year.

One coach also at 15/2 is Norv Turner of the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers are a notorious slow starting team and the front office has shown a great deal of trust and patience in Turner but if this team goes on a big slide, it's certainly possible.

Bodog has Lovie Smith at 12/1 but Chicago will not fire him during the season after extending his deal.

Mike Shanahan is listed at 15/1, but with their 2-0 start and the fact, Daniel Snyder loves him, the only way Shanahan would go is if something happens with the offensive coordinator, his son Kyle Shanahan. Don't expect a mid-season firing here.

The last coach on the list is Andy Reid, won't even comment about this one. Reid is not going anywhere!

If forced to take one, I'd go with Sparano, Del Rio or Turner but better off taking the field at 5/1. Would not surprise me if there were no mid season firings

What are the odds on Caldwell? Thats where my money would go. He proved he did absolutely nothing with this team and was just a puppet for Peyton. Yes losing Peyton is a big deal, but what this team is doing on the field is flat out embarrassing. A real coach would at least have them competitive. He has never did anything except be Dungy's friend.

I have to look into this. Might take the field at 5 to 1 odds. We might see another Ryan coaching down in Dallas there, especially if they lose against Washington. Rob Ryan is making more noise than the coach is.

Del Rio is going to go the way of David Garrard. No way he makes it through this year as Jacksonville is bad once again. Jacksonville has yet to make any noise for a long time, and they're going to battle Indy for last place. They're even dogs to Carolina this week.

Miami tried to replace Sparano in the offseason, but giving him all that extra money likely means he makes until very late in the year. I say he's replaced in the offseason though.

Sparano. Upper mgmt perceives the team as a "playoff team".

Del Rio after the season. Won't even win the division in a year with Manning out and that will spell the end for Del Rio..

I agree with you (Jack) on KC. They stayed with Herm Edwards for a long time including a "blow it up and start over" project (that wasn't needed before he got there) I think the same thing is happening again. 4-12, 10-6 and this year will be ???? but in the grand scheme of things they aren't going anywhere with Haley.

The injury report in KC might save his job....can't see him getting canned with as many injuries as they have had. Hard to win when your playmakers drop.

Del Rio wont make it to week 6. Too Many changes made to get a winning team but it is not going to happen.
