they have a high school quarterback, my answer is no.

in this era where the passing game is so paramount I see no way any team can make it to the super bowl with a qb who only throws for about 3000 yards.

look at the ravens, they have had elite defenses (at least as good as the niners) forever now and have never been able to get there. Why? because they always have game manager type qbs who just can't keep up with the big boys like roethlisberger, brady and manning. in the regular season you can excel with great d, solid special teams, great coaching etc. but come playoff time you need a trigger man and alex smith just ain't gonna cut it.

no way in hell they won all thier games on a very soft schedule and are negative 26 YPG for season ! YOU cannot win with a weak passing game !

BUT the way packers are right now with the key injuries coming late in year and also negative YPG almost any team in NFC can take em out !

except saints or falcons !

OK this is the scenario that might happen if someone beats packers in div roundof playoffs That team will lose the Finals

any team in NFL that Beats defending Champs in playoffs is 0-13 their next Playoff game 1-12 ATS last year it was seattle after upsetting saints ....... but Saints really lost to tampa final home game; Seattle also really lost @ tampa week 15

wacky stuff isnt it !

The 49ers have no chance to get to the Superbowl because their offense cannot put the ball into the end zone. They must constantly kick FG's. While that may be good enough for the push overs they play in the NFC East and West (they played all NFC East teams this season), that is not going to cut it against teams like Green Bay, New Orleans, Atlanta, or possibly even Detroit. The 49ers rank 15th in the NFL in scoring, and kicked more FG's than they scored TD's. Green Bay ranks 11st, and New Orleans ranks 2nd in scoring in the NFL. Detroit is 4th, and Atlanta is 7th. The 49er defense cannot offset that descrepancy.

I have to say that the Saints look like the team to beat right now. Obviously the Packers have a great offense and home field advantage, so they are going to be awfully tough to beat. I don't think the 9ers will be able to get past them especially if they get the #3 seed.

You never know but I certainly wouldn't bet money on the 9ers winning the SB. Like someone mentioned above, I don't think they can win with that offense. Plus factor in that the 9ers might have to play at Lambeau in January and I just don't think they'll be hide that offense.

But in the end anything is possible.

Won't they have a first round buy and at least one playoff game at home. That should give them a decent shot. And that rookie head coach is a proven winner.

Simple answer no

Like them to beat the Saints this week but they are not going into Lambeau next week and beat the Packers on the road.

Run defense is very good but the Packers don't run the ball much, the one area where the Niners are vulnerable is in their pass defense and the Packers will be able to stretch them out and make plays in the passing game and put points up on the board. Niners offense IMO will not be able to keep up on the road and that will be the difference.

Saints will beat the 49ers this weekend. End of story.

Saints real strength is their head coach, he's an offensive genius. Payton will have a game plan that will take advantage of the 49ers defense. Hey, if you can't run on the 49ers then you pass, and who passes better than the Saints? The Saints will sustain drives, and then take their shots once they have set the hook.

I love the Saints.....
