The Winless 3
So good for the Lions for finally taking down a win, and in very impressive fashion. Their fellow winless teams, however, did not find as fortunate a result.
Buffalo had a home game against a very beatable Jaguars squad, only to be handled on their own turf. Carolina got Chicago without their star QB, and not only did they not win, they didn't even manage to score a single TD against the Bears...and again, handled on their own turf. San Francisco got a Kolb-led Eagles team travelling 3 timezones west, which is usually a formula disaster. Luckily for Philly, the 49ers are a larger disaster, and ended up coughing up the game due to turnovers...on their own turf. So taking away the home field advantage, and the concept of a desperate team needing a win (it worked for Dallas vs Houston, and NYG vs Chicago), what else needs to happen for these teams to win? Is it possible for 3 teams to go winless, because all 3 of them are bad enough to do just that. Let's checkout the remaining schedules. Buffalo W6 Bye W7 - Oct 24 @ BAL W8 - Oct 31 @ KC W9 - Nov 07 vs CHI (in Toronto) W10 - Nov 14 vs DET (winnable) W11 - Nov 21 @ CIN W12 - Nov 28 vs PIT W13 - Dec 05 @ MIN W14 - Dec 12 vs CLE (winnable) W15 - Dec 19 @ MIA W16 - Dec 26 vs NE W17 - Jan 02 @ NYJ Carolina W6 Bye W7 - Oct 24 vs SF (winnable) W8 - Oct 31 @ STL W9 - Nov 07 vs NO W10 - Nov 14 @ TB W11 - Nov 21 vs BAL W12 - Nov 28 @ CLE (winnable) W13 - Dec 05 @ SEA W14 - Dec 12 vs ATL W15 - Dec 19 vs ARI (winnable) W16 - Dec 23 @ PIT W17 - Jan 02 @ ATL San Francisco W6 - Oct 17 vs OAK (winnable) W7 - Oct 24 @ CAR (winnable) W8 - Oct 31 vs DEN (winnable) W9 Bye W10 - Nov 14 vs STL W11 - Nov 21 vs TB W12 - Nov 29 @ ARI (winnable) W13 - Dec 05 @ GB W14 - Dec 12 vs SEA (winnable) W15 - Dec 16 @ SD W16 - Dec 26 @ STL W17 - Jan 02 vs ARI (winnable) Out of all 3 of teams, I definitely like San Fran's chances of salvaging some wins. The plus for all of them is that they all have the Browns on their schedule. Plus San Fran & Carolina play each other, and since ties are pretty rare, it's safe to say someone will get a win. But the possibility is there for 2 of them to finish winless. Does anyone else think it could actually happen? I really do. These 3 are playing absolutely horrible right now. Thoughts? |
