I don't like giving points in the playoffs,so i will do what i do best & put these 2 games in a teaser play..
Baltimore at Pittsburgh The health of these 2 teams will be a huge key in this game, as Willie Parker is finally healthy for the Steelers, while the Ravens D may be shorthanded as CB Samari Rolle is doubtful and LB Terrell Suggs is questionable and if he can't go it will be a huge loss for the visiting team. With the bad weather forecast in this game the team that can run the ball will have the advantage and that benefits the Steelers, as Parker is finally healthy and now has the explosiveness out of the backfield after being injured for mush of the regular season. Roethlisberger has been here before, while Flacco is a rookie but has not looked like one in the Ravens 2 playoff wins. The offensive line for both teams have to play well, as they have to protect the QB from the opposing defense and they also have to open up holes for the running game. The Steelers have already beaten the Ravens twice this year and it is always hard to beat a team 3 times in one season. The Steelers are firing on all cylinders and the Ravens are banged up on defense, which is not good facing Parker, who is poised to handle most of the offense for the Steelers. Look for the Steelers to dominate this game, especially on defense, as they will easily win this game in a low scoring affair and advance to the Super Bowl. Philadelphia at Arizona These teams met in Philadelphia in week thirteen with the Eagles winning easily. The Eagles have been a team that seems to play hot or cold and of late they have been playing very hot indeed. Arizona’s offensive prowess has never been in doubt; weapons like Fitzgerald and Boldin have given them the third ranked overall offense despite having the last ranked running offense in the league. The Arizona defense has been playing very well in the playoffs. This is rather remarkable since they had the worst overall scoring defense of any team to make the playoffs. However, in the playoffs they have the fourth-best scoring defense and second in total yardage. (Note that the other three teams left are the top three defensive teams from the regular season.) Fitzgerald has been unstoppable, seemingly able of producing a big play whenever required. Boldin’s injury has restricted his effectiveness but they have been able to establish a rushing attack to support the passing game. Warner, who can be somewhat erratic, has been solid. The Philadelphia defense is very good; they are talented across the board and can keep an offense off balance. Jim Johnson has had good schemes for each of the playoff games and can bring pressure with the talent available. This is one way to disrupt the Cardinals passing game if they can make it happen. The Cardinals play well at home, Philadelphia is playing well and overall the more talented team. This is a quarterback’s game, one of them could easily fold up, Warner under pressure or McNabb for whatever reason he seems to have a bad game. Barring that there is a slight edge to Philadelphia despite being on the road,i will take out some x-tra insurance on the Cards & take the points. Wiz's call: Pittsburgh (pk)/Arizona +9.5 (teaser) a little more incentive on the Steelers contest: Baltimore has really improved in the late part of the season. The Ravens have won their last 7 of 8 games with their only defeat coming from the Steelers. The game appears to certainly be another defensive grudge match featuring the two best defensive units in the NFL. The Ravens have played exceptional on the defensive side of the ball holding teams to slightly over 10 points per game in their last 7 games. Baltimore has also been playing well on the offensive side of the ball. The Ravens offense has come on strong behind rookie QB Joe Flacco. Flacco threw a ton of interceptions through the first part of the year, but has not thrown a single pick in 5 games. Flacco is beginning to throw the ball with confidence and as result the Ravens offense is becoming more effective. The Ravens ground game has also been solid behind Le’Ron McClain and Willis McGahee. Both running backs will get a number of carries this Sunday and the team that established the ground game the best will likely win this game. Pittsburgh has the best defense in the NFL. The Steelers potent defense ranks 1st in 3 of 4 major defensive categories and 2nd in the other. Pittsburgh only allowed 202 total yards from Baltimore in their last meeting and they will try to do the same this Sunday. In the last meeting, WR Hines Ward had a big performance from the wide receiver position. Ward caught 107 reception yards in that game and has played very well in the final month of the season. If the Steelers get in a bind and are forced to throw the football, expect Ward to get some opportunities to make a big play. This game will likely be won in the trenches considering these defenses are extremely talented. Baltimore and Pittsburgh have without a doubt the best two defenses in the NFL and it will be interesting to see which offense can make some plays and get the job done. What should happen… The ground game will likely tell the story in this battle. Do not expect there to be a large amount of passes as both teams will rely a good bit on their defense. The team that can move the ball on the ground and win the field position will likely win the game. Both offenses have shown effective running games at one point or another this season. Look for these dominant defenses to stand strong, but watch to see which team controls the ball through the running game. Wiz's call: Pittsburgh ML (money line)
