Your Top 5 Difference Makers in 2009

Here is my list of the Top 5 difference makers in 2009:

1. Tom Brady. Obviously the Patriots are betting the house on his full and complete recovery. So far, everythings sounds great, but this is May. He has not been hit yet. Let's see what his injury did to him mentally, as well as physically.

2. Sean Merriman. The San Diego defense cost them dearly last year, and much of that was a result of losing Merriman and their pass rush. A healthy Merriman helps a poor secondary as well. Fortunately, the division is so weak that Merriman can take his time rounding into form.

3. Jay Cutler. He is suppose to be the savior of Chicago, but how will he perform without any #1 wideout? Can he control his emotion and survive in the NFC North, where they actually tackle people? Chicago threw the dice with this guy. WIll they make their point or crap out?

4. Hackeen Nicks. He goes from college to the #1 receiver on a team that will challenge for the NFC Crown. Eli and the Giants will need him to play like a #1 receiver or it will be a long year for them. Just look what happened last year after Plaxico left.

5. Matt Hasselback. When Seatle passed on Mark Sanchez, they sent the message that Hasselback is their QB of today and the near future. If he can recover from last years back injuries, he can be very effective and Seattle can battle Arizona for the division crown. If he is hurt again, they battle the Rams for 3rd place.

Offensively for now....

1. Calvin Johnson- He's going to really be a standout this year with some consistency at QB

2. Felix Jones- Cowboys offense struggled last year after he went out. Hes a threat to hit break it every time he touches the ball expect a lot of highlights out of him this season

3. Chris Johnson- He is going to need to continue to carry the load on offense if the Titans want 13-3. I think he has a break out season.

4. Sage Rosenfels- He's going to have to be the one to get all the offensive weapons the ball and spread the wealth. AP, Harvin, Barrian all need to get their touches from a capable catalyst.

5. Tony Romo- They have to many weapons and without TO they all need their share. Jason Garrett has to call a smooth flowing offense for him to even have a chance.

I think all the Vikings need is for Sage (assuming Favre doesn't sign and he beat out Jackson) to control the ball and be able to get the opposing defense to respect the pass. Barrian got his touches last year with Jackson and Ferrotte at Qb.

I am also curious to see if Childress is creative enough to get Harvin involved in a lot of different facets of the offense. He sure hasn't shown any creativity the past 3 seasons.

Everytime a real decision in game needs to be made and they pan the camera towards him he looks like he is a deer caught in the headlights. I really believe if the Vikes actually had a different coach and an actual QB who make some passes this team would be very dangerous but Childress scares the hell out of me as a coach.

1- westbrook iggles go as he goes
2. brady- ne will win 13 this year
3.-lt- guy is not shot and if he is back healthy the offense will def open up even more, plus sproles not every down back imo
4. Cutler- I dont think the Bears are that good but he could def help a struggling passing game
5- Jax Defense- when they are good this team can beat anyone and as we saw last year when they are bad they are a piss poor team
u can also put GARARRD IN AT 5A. Think this is his last chance to do something offensively

Agree with 1,2, and 5. I would have Hasselback as the #3, because if he is healthy they can win that weak division. As far as Nicks, a rookie WR as a difference maker?? Odds say no, so I would not have him in there. I would have co #4's of Matt Ryan and Joe Flacko, can they continue to command the ship or do they have a sophmore slump. I think Ryan will back up his play, but I think Flacco and Balt struggle a bit. My last difference maker would be LT, I think he could have a great year, but we will see.

I can't stand Childress is a coach. He seems like he is trying to prove his way is the right way and unwilling to have any flexibility in the scheme. The fact that he was willing to give the job without any competition to Jackson in year 2 was his downfall with the fan base. As long as they win though he is going no where.

Mark Sanchez - The second coming of Broadway Joe

Brian Orakpo - Opponents double team Haynesworth and Orakpo becomes a star

Fred Jackson - Fills in for M. Lynch and wins the starting job

Matthew Stafford - Leads Lions to first playoff game in in a decade

Michael Vick - Someone takes a chance and he proves himself again

defensively

1. Jerod Mayo- Has a lot of repsonsibility to be the anchor and leader of that defense his sophmore season.

2. Mario Williams- Must continue to be a difference maker in the pass rush to give his up and coming defense a chance to succeed

3. Derrick Harvey/ Quentin Groves- Because they have to be

4. Jay Ratliff- Canty is now a divisoin rival and he must step up and fill his shoes

5. Ashley Cromartie- The chargers defense got torched last year in the passing game, he needs to step up for 07 form. i think he will
